Read here on how to post pictures within guide regulation Photo Regulations/How to Post TIPS on taking good pictures that WIN Make sure you have good lighting Try and take your budgie's picture without the bar cages, many camera's will let you zoom in and you can put the lense between the space If it is a close-up use your macro setting (symbolized on some camera's by a flower) and then press the shutter button 1/2 way and let it focus If the picture is blurry check your setting and try again Make sure you resize your pictures to message board size (640x480) too small of pictures are hard to see

  6. the chicks are absolutely adorable
  7. I love it Kaz, love the captions!
  8. Wonderful to hear your progress. There is a article in the FAQ section also about Taming your Budgie if you haven't read it to get more tips .
  9. For those who don't know which is which or their story Cabela is the miniature pinscher, we have had him now for little over 2 years he was rescued out of a puppymill where they used him for breeding. Southern Star Miniature Pinscher Rescue is where we adopted him from. They estimated him to be about 5-6 yrs old, I think he is a little younger but who knows. He is a great boy he had a lot of issues and we have worked through many of them. Sonny is the GSD and was adopted through BDBH rescue (that everyone knows of here) and we have had him for just a little over 2 months, he is truly the smartest dog we have every had. He is an amazing boy. We are working on him not to be so anxious when people come over, he is in training now and are going to work toward his CGC These two really are the odd couple, Cabela is 13 lbs and Sonny is now up to 80lbs. Cabela is always getting up on the couch to be on the same level We were doing a little bit of fun training, Sonny was in a play dead and Cabela in a watch Here we are on a wait Sonny saying can I just eat him now...JUST KIDDING he would never hurt him My what a big mouth you have Just some more pics... Working on ball recall Working on being cute but that isn't hard though Cabela always looks some what scared or something in the close ups Hope you enjoyed them...
  10. I am sure being prego doesn't help either being tired I hope that subsides...great job on your schooling.
  11. Kaz is right, we also have a great FAQ section and article on how to tell if your budgie is sick. Most budgies even if they are scared of their enviroment will perch or hang on the cage sitting on the bottom is not good. Do what Kaz said and keep us updated.
  12. Elly replied to Pearce's topic in Budgie Pictures
great pics , thanks for sharing, they look gorgeous
  13. Blackface is a recessive gene so it would work just like say the recessive pied gene. You need 2 Blackfaces to have 100% blackfaces OR you will need 1 Parent that is a Blackface and 1 Parent split to Blackface
  14. well biting doesn't always mean that she is not bonding with you biting espeically if you find it more play biting, flirting biting if she is agressively attack biting you then yes I would be worried. How long have you been working with her?
  15. What he is doing is calling out to either you or his brothers if his brothers are there then most likely you. Undesirable behavior and it can get worse the best thing you can do is ignore it or if it is really bad cover the cage and then uncover once he has calmed down. Sometimes I have to do that with Merlin but he isn't too bad.
  16. I would say withing 48 hours it will be safe
  17. thank you for the update , look forward to watching them progress
  18. Elly replied to snowy's topic in Budgie Behaviour
    no he is just playing
  19. if you can post better pictures in the natural lighting with no flash that would really help. pretty birds
  20. keep us updated, I hope all turns out well. Good advice Liv!
  21. Behavior such as the angry dolphin noise, beak fighting, squawking are indication that they still need time to adjust to each other. I know Pretty tried to mount Merlin too so it wasn't that they didn't like each other they had to figure it all out. Any type of social behavior, such as talking to each other, preening, feeding each other are signs they are doing fine. Keeping them in separate cages for the first week of introduction is what I did but I let them play outside of the cage and in each others cages but didn't house them together until I felt everything was smooth and looking good.
  22. they are adorable, beautiful colors, welcome
  23. When I had my 2 in the same cage for the first time I did it only when I was present to make sure they got along and then during the day then the last stage was night because that is when fights can break out and you don't know what happens. Glad things are working well.
