My Best Budgie Friends Are Fighting
What are they fighting about a perch to sleep on since you said it happens only at night? What time of the night does it happen? Good that you took out the reflective mirrors and rearranged the cage, remember budgies in the wild are nomads so they don't see the same scenery everyday (well we don't either) can you imagine being in a cage 24/7 seeing the same thing day after day that gets boring so she finds something that she finds mentally stimuating and that is beating up on him. There is an excellent post about foraging for food (in the nutrition section) you need to mentally stimulate your budgies minds in the cage if they don't come out. Rotate toys, keeps reflective ones out, give different types of treats that they like to find and look for there is so much you can do to make their life more enriched . Can you post a picture of your cage and the arrangement that would help us help you too.

True Love...
Give it a couple weeks an he may warm up to her but if he shows signs of agression because he is irriated I would keep them separate, it is very common at least what I have seen with members with tame budgies and tiels together that they can get smitten with each other even if there is another budgie around.

Mixing Birds?
Budgies should never be mixed with any type of birds, some of our members do mix tiels and budgies but their aviaries are very large to support the needs of both birds and the size difference from a tiel to a budgie is not major, budgies do irritiate, become territorial and one swipe from a too's beak will kill a budgie, this is why they should NOT be together in the same space (cage, aviary etc..)

My Best Budgie Friends Are Fighting
I would take the bell out and any reflective toys (mirrors...etc) they see their reflection and think it is another budgie and there maybe some protective issues going on, also how big is the cage and do you rotate perches and toys often? Do they get out of their cage often?

Budgie Sound Files?
What I do is keep on the radio all the time on my computer since this is where Merlin is and if the T.V. is on in the living room then I turn it down, I don't use budgie sounds because for Merlin being a sole bird it would frustrate him looking for another budgie. Also Merlin is in my office so when I shut the doors and keep everyone out I let him out so he can explore on my desk and bond with him.

Worried About Paddy...new budgie
Welcome Please go to the FAQ's and in there is an article about Taming Your Budgie, I know you have the experience but it is a great refresher course when you are starting brand new again. I would refrain from doing any type of misting until he get more comfortable with you, I would also keep his cage covered on all three sides for the next week to keep him calm, along with talking to him a lot but keeping hands out and feeding millet as a treat when you spend time with him, there are many more tips in the article . Again, welcome and if MB can come and look at the bird's wing you will be in good shape.

My Best Budgie Friends Are Fighting
Have you noticed if she is going through a heavy molt or going into breeding condition? Anyone of these plus could be causing her to be "nasty".

You can also crush up the pellets if you have him on a partial pellet diet and he ate them before. What a cutie, you should enter his picture in the budgie of the month contest.
