    they are beautiful
  9. she is gorgeous I would say she is a dark mauve again beautiful babies and parents. congrats.
  10. Thank you He is gorgeous he looks like he is the same color as Merlin but looks a little more purplish then Merlin gorgeous :hap:
  11. yes you are right ellulah all opalines would be females The female would give 1 gene to her males so the males would be normals split to oplaine
  12. Yes that is the one of the indicator for violet so maybe your mauve baby is carrying the violet gene too. Merlin's are very navy and dark too he is a violet but not as dark. If you look at Merlin in my siggy you can see the coloration is similar to your babies but again not as dark, it is like a jean material coloration (that is how I describe it). There are different shades of violet. here is a picture of Merlin now you can see his cheek patches are dark , excuse his molting condition he is a bit scruffy
  13. sounds like the molt is dying down and if you are putting them in the sun daily and not direct that is excellent because they need the sun for Vitamin D :hap:.
  14. Gorgeous colors 1. baby is a mauve which means he has 2 dark factors 2. violet could be double factor because so dark 3. is a violet looks recessive pied possible double factor dominant pied (I hold my vote on the pied part)
  15. Big boy doesn't look cinnamon too me (but then my monitor has been said to be playing tricks on me (Laughing out loud)) anyone else? what do you think do you think he is pied because he looks like he has the pied spot? Is that a pied spot or the light or the spot that people are saying show the bird is split to recessive pied? Your right about if both parents are spangled and 1 is a DF spangle Big Boy should be spangle that is odd. I think Nerwen is talking about the Melasntic Spangle? (sp?)
  16. poorly marked or whatever she is a beautiful start and I can't wait to see you progress with this mutation lacewings are gorgeous :hap:
  17. Norm I see what you are saying :hap: Dominant pieds can be split to recessive pied but they can't show it both visually. Not that I am aware of, I haven't read anything like it. The oddness and I agree with Norm is from the pied gene just as they can have throat spots on one side and not another, Pretty was like that.
  18. the green I believe takes you back to the basic budgie, it is very favored in the show ring, along with strong points. I am sure there is more and Kaz or another shower will come and enhance my answer :budgiedance:.
  19. no it doesn't mean he is split to recessive it is common in double factor pieds, I believe one of Rainbow's was like that :budgiedance:. He is handsome.
  20. females I think she thought hey this is all mine :budgiedance: Merlin was going crazy listening to the video . Thank you for sharing.
  21. Reading through information Aly (and you know what the mutation is) this is a great test for us . I have been reading and there are 3 types of yellows (that are not lutinos). She could be a light yellow (of course you know my screen), cinnamon of course there are some things that disagree with her being a light yellow in the description of what they should be. I think I have spent way too much time investigating so I will have to see what your correct answer is. I will stick with Yellow Cinnamon and see what the answer is .
