Me Again
Your bird sounds sick...see below for symptoms. The are many common illnesses that affect budgies, all of which have similar symptoms. Take your budgie to see an Avian Vet if you are concerned about any changes in behaviour or you notice any of the following signs: Decreased appetite; weight loss Decreased activity and grooming behavior Change in consistency or coloring of dropping in excess of two days Sitting at the bottom of the cage; unable to perch Discharge from nose or mouth; sneezing Feathers fluffed for prolonged periods of time Your budgie sits quietly in the corner or on the floor of the cage. Your budgie sleeps a lot during the day. Your budgie has been sick or is regurgitating very violently.(Regurgitation is an up and down movement. Vomiting is a sideways shaking of the head ) Reguritation vs Vomiting You notice any swelling, lumps, blood or limping. There are many different signs that your budgie may be sick call your Avian Vet immediately. Budgies do mask their illness and have been known to bounce back for a short time and then they relapse and it may be too late. Don't take chances your Avian Vet can test for many different illness. If you are concerned about charges ask them for an estimate up-front and be honest with them. Many Avian Vet do understand. Always ask. Finding an Avian Vet

Just Wondering....
All budgies in my mind are super cute and remember we need to be breeding for health first and foremost not just super cute budgies. A yellow bird is a bird with the green erased from his body due to either an ino gene or double factor gene etc.. It is still considered part of the green series which is dominant over blue. So unless your 2 birds were split for blue all the babies would be green/yellow or all yellow depending what gene the bird is giving to the off spring. Because green is dominant over blue you would only get blue babies IF the green series bird was split for blue and the only way you would know that is if you knew what the parents were at least 3 generations back OR if this bird was proven to throw off the blue gene with blue hen. Hope that answers your questions.

The "pied Spot"
so my question is in a show you would show them as a normal because that is what they are but if the spot was there it would be considered a fault?

Feeling Ill
You have an excellent point Kathy. It reminds me of the situation that Kaz has been dealing with, with her Uncle and the feral cats. As stated he didn't want help or was not in a state of mind to see he was doing anything wrong. I guess though sometimes that is where the family & the authorities need to work together in the best interest of the person and the pets so they both get the help they need. Very sad situation in the end for both parties.
