that is cute he sounds like a character, I agree with Dr. Nat when you go quiet they tend to make more noise and when you are peering under he freezes because he doesn't know if you are a predator, I would just talk to him to settle down and but don't make it a happen .

Welcome, your budgies are beautiful, and I love the picture, we do have a June Budgie of the Month Contest you may want to submit your picture it, just go under Competitions and you will see a forum on top called Budgie of the Month, and then just click on June Budgie of the Month Entries...post as you did this one .

Violet is an added factor and if the bird is a green split to blue bred with another blue or another green split to blue you can get a visual blue violet is that what you are meaning? Explain more what he had to say ....are you talking about getting Green Violets or Blue Violets.

It sounds like he did have a bad experience even though they don't they he did, I would suggest just working again with him, there are some excellent tips in the taming section in the FAQ's....if he doesn't stop you may want to consider doing a one time wing clip that does help get them settled back down and then it grows right back out.
