    They're adorable together .. 2x the cute.
  2. They're very pretty. The light blue one in the first picture looks like a female version of Bunny. It's great to hear that Lemon is so sweet, I don't know that Lemon is a he, though. Lemon looks like a female in the picture.
  3. To get dominant pieds you would need to get one and mate it with one of your birds - then you could get 50% dominant pieds. You won't get any recessive pieds unless one of your birds is split for recessive pied. It would be split for recessive pied if one of its parent's (grandparents, etc.) was a recessive pied and it inherited the gene. If you had one like that you could get recessive pieds by breeding it with a recessive pied.. or another bird that was split for recessive pied.
  4. Emmy looks alot more like a female based in the pictures. There seems to be quite a lot of white on her cere - unlike her daddy in my opinion.

Great . Love the yellowface grey. She looks like a female to me too.
  7. :bluebudgie: Welcome Berry (very cute name too)!

:bluebudgie: :ausb: I'm sure Sparky will be okay as long as there are some Jellybabies around...

He's very cute. I don't know what you used to resize the picture.. but maybe make sure that "Keep Aspect Ratio" is on/checked.
  11. You know.. when you look at these.. he really doesn't look like brightly colored at all.. I'm wondering if he may actually be a *cobalt* greywing or maybe even a cobalt dilute. okay.. I'm done too now :S .. At least we know they'll all be green unless Newton is split for blue.
  12. That's true Lovey.... but I was ruling him out as being a full body color greywing I hope..... they all look too simular to me.

She's very cute.. even if she does look angry in some of the pictures. I love Sparky's markings.
  14. I think I'm getting more and more confused Lovey. Since her flights are so light, I still think that Newton is a dilute. It looks like the greywings have darker ones. Is Napoleon a clearwing.. is he a greywing? It doesn't make a whole lot of difference because either one is dominant to dilute -- so if he's a greywing the babies will all be greywings.. and if he's a clearwing, the babies will all be clearwings. To add a bit of extra confusion -- greywing (and clearwing) can both be split for dilute and if Napoleon is than you can get 50% greywing (or clearwing) and 50% dilute by breeding him with a dilute.
  15. I'm leaning toward Napolean being a clearwing based on the pictures and descpritions. (but I'm not really sure) Here's Khepri and I think that he is a yellowface type 2 greywing. You can see how the yellow background of the new feathers are making them appear darker than the ones with the lighter background.
  16. Here's one of your links Lovey http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/p_colors.html#dilution I think I would tend to agree that Newton is a green dilute. Let's make sure that Napoleon is a clearwing. I wonder if he may be a yellowface type 2 - it doesn't look like he's gone through his first molt yet. The information to about what happens when you breed a dilute with a clearwing looks like it's on this page. http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/gen_dilution.html
  17. Little tiny cute things... Did the second one hatch from the egg you were wondering about.. or another one?
  18. Congratulations again.. Echo is a really cute name.
  19. No one's saying that lovey.. Nerwen.. would a yellowface grey have more grey around the legs like Marine has cobalt.. or not always?
  20. Lovey, you know alot more than you're giving yourself credit for. I had a tough time with Bea's one last night. For a change, she even knew what the parents of 3 of the 4 birds were and it played a role a few times. I refer back here a bit.. it pretty much tells you what to expect from the "common" ones. http://www.budgerigars.co.uk/charts/index.html I suppose that I just find the genetics stuff interesting.. even if I never breed birds myself.
  21. okay..now I don't really think pied.. since the wing markings are normal.. but I can't come up with anything. Probably something obvious (or something I'm not too familiar with) that I'm not thinking of... maybe someone else will see the description and go .. "oh, that sounds like a ____"
  22. Wylie and Tweety would be yellowface sky blues (birds that look like Wylie) and normal sky blues (birds that look like Wylie without the yellow face). All the babies would be split for dilute. All four of your birds are blue.. so no matter who was paired with who (of the 4) you wouldn't get any greens.
  23. I'm not really sure. Maybe dilute recessive pied?? If she evenutally gets iris rings.. then she's not recessive pied.. What sort of pattern do the markings on her wings have? are they like a normal budgies wings (a pattern like hutch's wings) but lighter colored.. or are there greyish spots here and there?
  24. What color are Buttercups eyes? If they're not red, do they have an iris ring - a grey circle around the outside of the eyeball (may not have developed yet if she is young)
  25. I don't really see him being a yellowface type 2 (or 1).. Type 2 would indicate that he is a blue bird, but he appears to be green because the yellow from his face is "mixing" with the blue from his body. A yellowface type 1 would have a blue body and yellow face. If that's the case.. I guess that would make him an olive. Olive is a bird with 2 dark factors - in green it goes light green with no dark factors, dark green with 1 dark factor, and olive with 2 dark factors. Dark factors are inherited from their parents based on what color they are.. and how many they have. Grey-green is when a green bird inherits a grey gene from it's parents.. In blue birds, a bird that gets a grey gene would be grey.
