Breeding Yf2
There are a few senarios.. if they are truely yellowface type 2's, then either could be single or double factor. I've read a few things that are leading me to believe that sometimes we are mistaking yf1's for yf2's, because as far as I know its not the distribution of the yellow on the birds (just head -- or bleeds into the body), but the intensity of the yellow that makes them what they are. But I could be wrong. Say that they are both single factor yf2 - then you could get 50% single factor yf2 , 25% double factor yf2 , and 25% blue Double factor yf2's have yellow faces (sometimes mistaken for goldenfaces) ...... double factor goldenfaces have yellow faces ..... double factor yf1's have white faces. If one of the yf2's was double factor and the other was single factor, then you could get 50% double factor yf2 and 50% single factor yf2 If both of the yf2's are double factor then you would get 100% double factor yf2's

Better Call Pest Control
We're infested. These pests decided it would be fun to crawl down my arm and check out the mouse and printer. They can all fly, so I was impressed they stayed for so long. Hey.. you got anything to eat over here Check out the Bunny pose Sometimes Bunny looks tall and thin.. and sometimes he looks like this. The most dangerous budgie in the world. Khepri takes a break from the destruction to look cute.

My Budgies
The parents are both beautiful birds. I hope you'll continue to post more pictures as the baby grows.

Booboo And Bessie
Booboo looks like a male yellowface type two recessive pied cobalt (or mauve) Bessie looks like a female sky blue recessive pied.. but may be dominant pied (since she has a bit of blue near her neck) depending on whether or not she gets an iris ring.

All My Darlings
Have you determined whether Bo Jangles is a male or female for sure yet? Will we ever be seeing her/his babies someday?
-
Ok What Do You Have When To Receive These Chicks.
My first instinct would be to say that dad is a double factor dominant pied since all the chicks came out pied. If he doesn't have iris rings, I wonder if a bird could be both dominant and recessive pied - since they are different mutations. I don't know. If he is definately recessive, than mom must also be split for recessive pied.. but still only a 50% chance of chicks being recessive.. maybe they beat the odds a bit on the first clutch. The mother is split for blue as well. They could be more blue or green recessive pieds.. as well as blue normals and green normals. Males would be split for cinnamon.

Genetics Calculator
There is a choice for yellowface type one. They call it blue 2 or blue II. The article I linked explains why a lot better than I could.. but in short the theory is that since a double factor yellowface type 1 has a white face, it isn't really a yellowface gene, but a different blue gene. Double factor yellowface type 2 and golden faces do have yellow faces (as do goldenfaces split for yellowface type 2) Instead of a yellowface type 1 gene, it's saying that there are 2 different "types" of blue - common blue which is b1b1 and b2b2(double factor yellowface type one). When those 2 different blue genes get together for a b1b2 that's when you get a "yellowface type 1". Both b1 and b2 are defective.. they don't produce a yellow pigment.. but when you put them together they balence eachothers weaknesses and some yellow is produced. It's interesting that the calculator above is using blue II instead.. but the results are the same reguardless of what you call it. if you take a double factor yellowface type 1 yf1yf1 and a blue bb.. you'll get all yf1b (yellowface type 1 single factor) or if you take a blue II b2b2 with a blue b1b1 .. you'll get all b2b1 (yellowface type 1 single factor)

Genetics Calculator
That's interesting.. I haven't seen it before.. saw one for lovebirds before.. but it was less detailed. I wonder why the males are 1.0 and the females .1 Daz.. I think that you still need to check blue for Ash.. as well as grey. It's kind of strange.. It looks like if the yellowface type 1 is single factor you have to check off the blue II spot as well as a blue spot in the column right next to it.. so that it would be blueII split to blue. Otherwise it treats it as a double factor blueII (yellowface type one) 1.0 grey(sf) blue cinnamon x 0.1 blueBlueII % from all 1.0 25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) blue /cinnamon 25.0% 1.0 blue /cinnamon 25.0% 1.0 grey(sf) blueBlueII /cinnamon 25.0% 1.0 blueBlueII /cinnamon % from all 0.1 25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) blue cinnamon 25.0% 0.1 blue cinnamon 25.0% 0.1 grey(sf) blueBlueII cinnamon 25.0% 0.1 blueBlueII cinnamon the blueBlueII hybrid is what we've been referring to as yellowface type 1 birds. I've read this article that talks about that concept. I found it interesting. http://www.birdhobbyist.com/parrotcolour/peter/yface01.html

Wanted! Pics Of Blue Or Green Spangles!
There's a chance that half of the babies would be pied.. some of those pied babies could also be spangles. I don't think that he is a spangle.
