Took a couple more pictures of the sky blue one, Is he just a spangle or an opaline spangle? I thought an opaline had the body colour on the little triangle bit between their wings? :bluebudgie: and also the green has a sort of rip on her cere, do you think this is caused from the mites and will it heal normally? Took a little early morning footage of my birdies today and i couldn't help but laugh when i just played back the beginning of what id taken and thought id share it with you.... He is so sweet and has helped teach Munchy and Mig to talk just as well as he does, I think he gets a head swell though when Mig and Munchy run about saying I Love You Apple :bluebudgie: (obviously i taught them that bit) :sad: .. When im not so busy ill have to get some footage of them all, i took some this morning early but they were grumpy bums and i havent yet actually looked at what i took.. might go do that now actually....

he is my little sweet cheeks :bluebudgie: and yeah he says I Love You normally it goes something like ... Hey Cutie watcha doing? beep beep beep beep I love you, comon talk to me **insert a fluffy noise or two and a few giggles here and there** :sad: Oh i forgot the Weeeeeeeeeee's he does too heheee

Karen i saw my vet today and she gave me some ivermectin (cattle dip) which is just one drop between the shoulder blades on the bare skin to get rid of the mites, it also gets rid of some worms (which ones i'm not too sure) and it also gets rid of air sack mites.. and ummm its also great for getting rid of fleas in dogs .. Its good because the topical stuffs work but don't kill the mite eggs that are still under the skin and that hatch at a later date but the ivermectin works by getting them from the inside out, and one drop and its over

Oh how at this very moment i am overjoyed that my budgie Munchy only preens my hair with his beak Although he has a "Human Bare Skin Fetish" as soon as he is on a bare piece of skin he starts doing his lil squat side to side motion while grabbing on for dear life with his wings even if we are walking past him he will POUNCE on us and go for it like a wild maniac... funniest situation i saw was when my 8 year old daughter was laying on the floor on her back playing the playstation and Munchy jumped on her forehead and started going for it :hap: He is rather naughty though and gets himself rather worked up in a hurry if we are not fast enough which is quite disgusting Cheers :beer: Una

the person that i got them from was just a man that knew absolutly NOTHING about budgies and got sick of them because they wouldnt mate so came to the conclusion they were all boys and must be gotten rid of .. I didnt bother waisting my breath at that stage to tell him about the birds condition, he was even amazed that i handled the birds without a HUGE bath towel covering them (such a wuss).. I will no doubt run into him again soon since i live in a very small town and then ill tell him about the birds I did pay $20 for each bird but i was just so determined to give them a home better than the one they had .. As for what types they are, what exactly are they?? not as in sex yet but as in spangle etc etc....actually i think i will retract that question till i can get some better pictures of them because the lighting simply isnt doing their colours any justice....

For the last few months i've been running an ad in the local paper wanting budgies, a couple of people phoned up but decided they wanted to keep their birds at the last minute ... Anyhow i got a phone call from a person that had three "male" budgies that he wanted to sell.. Sooooooo i now have three extra budgies to later add to my flock but i have to clear up their scaly face first etc etc. My favourite one is the one thats worse effected but i have faith that he will come great in the end.. The little pale blue spangle (?) is my favourite one, the poor little tack has really yucky feet too .. The normal green one (?) looks as if some of his cere is missing and then the little dark blue ones cere looks like its a little female in breeding condition .. I'm not sure exactly what they are so any ideas would be grateful Cheers :beer: Una

Mig and Munchy have learned to talk and do the happy dance thanks to Apple

since i cant get my hands on wood shavings and the box was getting grubby, i decided to shread up some absorbent paper towels, they worked a treat and absorbed really great.. Just make sure they are changed frequently

Veggies and i have actually come to appreciate them HEAPS more.. I never use to spoil the ones out in the aviary and im ashamed to admit it but ...I was one of those horrible people that bought bird seed in bulk home brand packets But now my aviary birds are so much loved and enjoy nothing less than the birds inside do I owe so much to this site and the fantastic people that make it so great {{{HUGS}}} LUV U GUYS!
