I don't think they're to take them flying. It's just a restraint so they can't fly off.
  5. Blinkie sometimes feeds me.
  6. What sort of thing other than separation can prevent them laying eggs? A sex change for the female?
  7. Of cause, i have a soft spot for weeny midgets *runs off to play with the babies*
  8. That's cause he's still a weeny midget! : Enjoy it while he stays that way!

I always struggle with blowing the husks away. The rebound off the dish into my face.
  10. Well i often say the same....(not kidding).... Nerwen, weren't Marine and Ringo darlings?! I love baby photos!
  11. Oh! So cute!! :hap: Here's innocent little baby Blinks.... And now... Huge difference! My babies all growed up.
  12. Most budgies go through a nasty stage around 4 - 5 months old (about when they have their first moult i guess). I'm not sure when they're considered an adult. I was having an argument with my brother last night: me claiming that when Blinkie turns 1 next month he'll be a big boy while Tim said he was just a weeny baby.

The large ones are mainly for big parrots, you should hopefully be able to find smaller ones too which are more budgie sized as well as cheaper.
  14. I don't trust pet shop products at all and just a generalised antibiotic wont be much good if you don't know exactly what's wrong. Keep the $8 and put it towards a visit to the vet. You'd be spending your money much better that way. Hope there's nothing seriously wrong. What are his droppings like? Normal or runny/unformed?

You have to be careful about what type of tree you get branches from. Nearly all fruit tree branches are safe though. Just cut some from a tree, scrub them well in avian disinfectant and then leave them to dry slowly in the sun for about a day. Rope perches should be easy to come by in pet stores and they're pretty cheap too. I can get them for just $6 - $8 from one of the pet shops here and they're really good for tired little budgie feet plus they add sooo much colour to the cage, looks great.

You're sure planning on squishing as many aviaries as you can into your yard arent you? Maybe you can ask your neighbours if they'll loan their yards to you for aviaries. :ausb::

It's very tall but it's also resonably wide and deep by the looks of it. :rip: Does Newton go down the bottom of the cage at all? When i had a tall cage all my budgies just crowded themselves into the top corner. She might also like a rope perch or some natural branches of different widths to exercise her feet. :ausb:
  19. I think number 2 is a texas clearbody, it reminds me so much of budgeover's budgie Rocky #1 and he was a texas clearbody.
  20. I posted about both the green headed budgie and the budgie i ended up with in Budgie Pictures. The topic's called "Meet..."

What's so embarrasing about liking budgies anyway?

Both dad and Tim are constantly saying how annoying Blinkie is and how much they hate him. This is especially funny because Blinkie seems to prefer hanging with the guys to hanging out with me. Recently i've found evidence that points towards dad and Tim loooving Blinkie. When Blinkie was pestering dad i took his mirror over and put it on the desk as a distraction but dad picked it up and started jingling it around for Blinkie to play with. And just today Tim was complaining about Blinkie trying to bite him but then when Blinks was sitting on his chest talking to himself Tim leaned forward and kissed Blinks. It's so nice seeing the big tough guys falling for Blinkie's devillish charm.
