  3. thanks nubbly... so does anyone have a picture of a... -d/f cobalt violet -mauve violet i would really appreciate it! oh and one more question nubbly -so does that mean you could hhave an albino or d/f spangle, and the violet is added on top (so you can see theviolet?) or does the albino and d/f spangle eliminate colour totally??

Hi all !! Banjo, as i have now named him is doing fantastically i am taking best of care of him and he is no where near other birds, safe in his own cage he is doing really well !! i have watched him eat every night since i have had him allbe it 2 nights bt he is DEFINATLEY EATING !! IN FACT HE IS A LITTLE PIGGY i give him his own plate fll of seed and he mnches away, and all that is left is the hsks of the seeds! so i know for sre he knows how to crack a seed and eat i have also watched him drink plenty of water, and he is not so flffed up any more i am convinced though that as he is a baby he is still going to look fluffy as all baby's have that soft fluffy appearance, he is also more upright i am keeping him warm at night by putting towel over cage and we have a wood fire which heats the whole house i am monitoring him very closely, as i dont want to loose him the taming process is good, today i put my hand on the ground and he walked from about a metre away and hopped on it! what a cutie! he is now on my shoulder and GB i am using your trick but instead i have bought him his own blankie (polar fleece material) which he sits in on my lap! all is good for now, i will keep you all posted on his progress thanks for all your help and for being concerned! here is another picture of Banjo more to come soon!

no i did think it through.. i honestly did even though he was cute and there i did seriously contemplate if i was able to care for another it is just that he is so young, and i did not know he was only 4-5 weeks old ... this isnt my fault, i didnt know i swear and that was only my mums thoughts (but then again wat does she know, i shouldnt have listened to her) i have a spare cage which he is in now! i knew that he could go in it it is just that my mum was complaining to me that he will not be accepted by the other 2 if i leave it too long please dont think that i wasnt giving the best care for my budgies i do give it my very best to see that they are givin fair and correct treatment and so what your saying gb is that i can not taim hinm if he has cntact wit other birds?? how come? well i will keep them seperate i am serious about taming him thanks for all your help guys PS: i have a uv light for my turtle tank which creates warmth, would that be suitable to piut over his cage?

oh no im scared now! so its really really young, how do you know this??? really only 4-5 weeks =[ i didnt realise do you say he is really young as he still has black on its beek?? he is pretty big for his age then, as he is bigger than my other 2 (alfalfa and mortimer who are 6 months) So i have to check: -feeding well, and properly -keep him warm -keep him away from "others" (what does this mean exactly?) and how come? wow really ... a good age to tame! excellent. i really wanted a good tame budgie this is my chance i guess GB !! can you please give me some tips on how to hand raise/ tame him?? "sitting him in your pocket and stuff when ever you get time sit him on your lap extra " what do you mean by this? if i put him in my pocket wont he suffocate, and wont he be reluctant and scared and try and get out, and if he sits on my lap should i pat him or ??? please please i need help, i desperate! PS: i think he is somewhat tame already as when i got him out of the box when i was home he hopped straight on my hand and did not fly around the room like a maniac unlike my other birds, and he isnt scared of me at all? PPS: my mum says if i dont put him in the cage with the other 2 then he wont get use to them and when i do put him in they will pick on him? what should i do?

i went to the pet shop today, and of course like metal to a magnet i went straight to the budgies! over the past couple of months i have restrained from buying another budgie! but i couldnt take it any longer! i had to have just one more and i found a cutie that i couldnt let pass, so i bought him/her (still not sure) im still undecided on a name as i am not yet sure whther it is a boy or girl but if its a girl my mum insisted i call it daisy and if its a boy i like banjo, clive or monte! any one like think one of these suits my little friend? when i was choosing a budgie i seen this little bird sitting in the food bowl, eating and it was this little piggy and i new i had to have it! and could someone please help me is it a boy or girl?? and what colour is it?? as it appears in real life to be a violet/mauve colour but it looks grey from afar?

  18. thanks guys i get it now.... so they are just; -goldenface (YF) -opaline -clearwing -dominant pied -Blue series colour but what is a clearwing? does that just refer to the flights that are not coloured? or is it referingto the whole wings? ps: GB very pretty bird . good example too i can see the transition in colours just like a rainbow !! nice!
  19. what is a rainbow budgie?? i ave heard of it in the posts alot lately, and i am confused as to what it is? is it a multicoloured bird? or just another name for a mutation? please help me. alpaca-boy  PS: pictures would be fantatsic if anyone owns one of these "rainbow" budgerigars

  21. princess no. 1 and aquarius no.7 are cuties!! what colour is aquarius no.7 looks violet i love princess no.1's shade of green, belissimo!
  22. GB .... why would pairing a albino with this birde produce good chicks?? does albino blood lines enhance feather quality like cinnamons?
  23. i am in agreeance with KAZ... very very pretty bird! its colours are so pungent! and markings are clear and defined. this is what i want to introduce into my birds when i breed in the future (clear and defined markings, not hazy blurry markings if you get what i mean? as in the wings cheek patches and colour are vibrant and clear :redalbino: )
  24. here here GB i love PICTURES !! but also extremely enjoy the genetic essence in posts. so interesting so very interesting  but you cant beat pictures!
