  2. i went there !! its a great zoo.. infact probably the best ive been to it is very animal friendly, that is it provides well for the animals care and allows quite large paddocks opposed to enclosures for the animals to roam, like in the wild did you ride a bicycle around the zoo dave?? i did it was so much fun!, when do you ever get to ride a bike around a zoo? i guess its sort of like a national park, with a zoo in it you could say, they animalks are spread far apart, i dont know if i could have walked around it, its like a safari, but the animalks are contained would be the best way to put it glad you had a great time dave!

  5. oooh what a special bub you must be glad you got one blue out of the nest so if its violet and greywing does that mean it can produce a lovely new colour! nemly lavender! as the violet will appear purplky but the greywing will dilute it to make a powdery purple blue or LAVENDER that is really cool, you will have to try and get that damn camera to show up that violet! cant wait for more pictures
  6. good pet choice! and welcome welcome babygumnut it will be very exciting when you get to pick your little budgie it always is for me well budgie care is pretty easy, compared to many oters pets you just provide a home, shelter, food (seed and maybe some veg), and water! and lots of love and care which im sure your kids will doo! goodluck and let us know what you get, maybe post a picture or two! alpaca-boy

AHHH not you silly.. the computer, i tried to copy it and when it comes up in my folder it appears as a squished line?? i think there must be some prottection on your photobucket pics that doesnt let people copy them?
  9. Hi all, my budgies are looking quite skinny at the moment and i weighed them alfalfa is 32g mortimer is 35g is this a bad weight for a budgie should i be worried they just look really skinny at the moment skinnier than usual so i was wondering what foods i can feed them to make them gain some weight??? other then the usual seed mix i feed them.
  10. okay i finally got around to making that swing!! here it is ... and dont worry the wood beads are non toxic, the packet said so it took a while for them to want to try it out though. but for some reason mortimer doesnt like swings he never never goes on them ... i think maybe it is because alfalfa thinks she is queen of the swing and wont let him on
  11. i love this little dilute... cutie
  12. nice aviary!! i like te driftwood kaz very australiana with the budgies on it!

  18. awwww what a lovely story!! the things some kids come up with sometimes! when i was little i, about 5 i asked my mum... "mum were you alive when the dinosaurs were around?" :fear its slightly offensive, but i didnt know any better! at the time i was crazy abut dinosaurs but i really think that a great story, and now you have a mug so you will never forget i like it when you can look at an object/ possesssion and it has astory behind it, it means so much more then
  19. cool!! from what everyones said we like the 1 dark factor and no dark factor birds so i guess the more vibrantly coloured budgies :laughter: and from the results it is also indicated that the ideal bird would be... a cobalt ! possibly with violet (this has the most popularity) and it seems to be that blue based are more popular than green, interesting but of course this does not reflect everyones favourite!

PICTURE UPDATE FOR BANJO: He is doing well, training him is a bit slow, but i have to say havnt really put much work into that yet, ut holidays have started so will be sure to spend more time with him!! he likes to hide under my bed and behind the photoframes ??? im not sure why ? PS: do we all still say he is a mauve??
  21. hello everyone! i thought it might be really cool to see what others love best when it comes to budgie base colours! i know from personal experience that there is always one or two colours which always take your fancy! there is always that colour which you come back to for me i love mauves and dark greens i love the richness of the dark green and the ethereal beauty of the mauves so what is your favourite?
  22. i love love love violets, just a beautiful colour i like dean would love to see a dark green violet i also like recessive pieds or when dominant pieds have a straight and distinct separation of colour but i actually prefer just the NORMAL standard budgie so just the normal face, body and wing markings, with a beautiful full coloured plumage on their front!! if i could i would have an aviary full of normals of every colour sky, cobalt, mauve, light green, dark green, olive, and normal violet so as to have a standard appearance, but a beautiful selection and palet of colours!
  23. lumina is just beautiful, i love her shade of green! cute babies
