  1. I don't know much about breeding but i still found it damn funny! And well done- it even sounds like he says "garbage" when the subtitles do!

How very sad for you, so sorry, he sounded like a gorgeous little guy! It's amazing what big personalities these tiny critters have.

Cute budgies! You'll find lots of great info & advice here, welcome!
  4. Great to hear how well things are going with Bogie (other than the cranky moulting stuff!) He sounds SO like my Peanut when it comes to bells...
  5. I'm pretty sure it isn't broken, he can walk on it (but he sort of limps- actually looks extremely cute! ) - i guess i'll just watch him over the next few days to see whether it gets better or worse!
  6. Yesterday Peanut was accidentally hit in the foot by a plastic toy (a kid's toy, not a budgie toy) & since then his foot has been a bit swollen & purplish. There's no blood or broken skin, I guess it's just bruised, but i was wondering whether there is anything i should be doing to help him? He seems happy enough- flying around, chirping, playing with his toys as much as usual, but it's obvious he doesn't want to put weight on the foot. He CAN walk on it, but whenever he perches he's tucking it up into his feathers. I tried to get photos but every time i get near him he tucks his foot away
  7. u guys crack me up!!! :rip:
  8. Thanks, I'll stop waiting for them now!!
  9. Peanut is around a year old now, but he still has no throat spots! Do all budgies get throat spots? On one side he has a tiny little black stripe, but that's all folks!!

He's gorgeous! I'd love to see any video of him too!
  11. What a cute boy, he looks a lot like my Peanut when he was little!
  12. I once had a pet female budgie (just her, on her own), she suddenly decided to lay an egg when she was around 10 years old! Unfortunately it got 'stuck' & i had to take her to the vet to get it out. She never had another egg after that (but she only lived about another year!) Not sure what made her produce the egg, she did have an old oven glove that she had 'claimed' as her own some years earlier, which she liked to 'nest' in - but she had it for years before she produced the egg! Maybe it was because she was very bonded to me & i had recently had a baby?
  13. not sure but he/she is SO pretty!
  14. Funny picture, i voted for it!!
  15. My turn! I've made little toys before, with bells & silver & gold coloured bits (I make jewellery so I have lots of bits & pieces) but these are my 1st bigger things! ... & they have Peanut's seal of approval!
  16. Don't know if I can help much but I'm pretty sure all the budgies i've had before have occasionally done the neck stretching/opening beak thingy! It looks freaky but usually stops after a while, in my experience! I assume it's some kind of stretching/sorting out something stuck in their throat!
  17. So sorry to hear about poor little Nibbles! I've never seen a plastic bell either, but maybe you could try one of those toys that is supposed to be for cats (but budgies love them)? There are 2 kinds, the one that's a plastic ball & the other like a plastic cage, with a metal bell inside. That way he would still have the bell to "ding" but it would be (hopefully) safe inside the plastic!
  18. My guy Peanut LOVES bells, or anything else that makes "tinkly" noises or is shiny or has little bits to nibble... in fact one of his favourite places to visit is my bedroom, I have a hook on my mirror with lots of jewellery hanging on it & he loves to climb around in there! I just have to make sure to be in the room with him to make sure he doesn't get tangled in anything  ! He also loves to sit on top of my earring holders (the kind that look like a woman with branches growing out of her head), unhook the earrings & drop them down, little bugger! I'll have to take photos! Also anyone who visits wearing dangly earrings needs to watch out if they don't want a budgie nibbling at their ears...!
  19. That was so adorable, can't wait 2 show my kids when they get home from Grandma's! I almost wee'd myself laughing at the lil guy who wouldn't stop going down the slide!
  20. My previous budgie Pingu (who escaped ) used to fully BATHE in her seeds!! (I can imagine it probably felt really nice, particularly on a warm day!) But she'd make SUCH a mess of her cage, so i had to change to a different seed container too!:budgiedance: hmm, my signature looks ****, think i'll change it!!
  21. lol, that is too funny!! :budgiedance:
  22. It must be his name- I've had MY Peanut for about 10 months & he still rarely touches anything green, except for the seed grass that grows as a weed around the house! Oh, and my pot plant that used to sit by his cage - i had to move it because he was demolishing it!! But we keep trying...
  23. They're gorgeous! Love that 2nd photo, with the half-closed eye!!
