My sister had a budgie who had a favourite little bell, and she used to put in into a little box with a lid... the budgie could go to the box & remove the lid to get his toy out to play with, i wish she video'd it, it was the cutest thing!!
how awesome... the further away pics look like a massive insect swarm!! It always amazes me how birds in huge flocks can fly all together without crashing into each other!

He's definitely making "human" sounds in there! At about 47 seconds in your clip, i thought i heard "hello hello"! He sounds alot like my Peanut (who's about 7 or 8 months now) - i'm not sure what he's trying to say, but something sounds a little like "budgie" so now i'm trying to teach him to say "budgie boy"! This budgie's not mine, but check this link... it's so cute, he can say 'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious'!! The 1st 35 seconds or so are just chirping, but then he starts to chat away.
congrats Kaz! He's beautiful (when he's dry, anyway!). My husband says the wet version looks like Edward Scissorhands!
I'm no expert on this, but in the list of toxic & non-toxic plants it says all parts of wattle are toxic... Also, with the bottlebrush, is it just the green bits people are using or the flowers too?
Wow Liv, i've just read this whole thread - you have been doing amazingly! Such sweet little guys! I just wish you would've gotten a photo of this bit - "The little rascal looked like a chicken schnitzel" Sounds like you have given them a wonderful life, short as may be. Good on you, fantastic job!!
"Birdie Num Num" Progress sounds great! I've had my Peanut for about 5 months, he STILL won't eat any greens other than the pot plant next to his cage & the seed grass that grows as a weed in our back yard- never met a budgie who didn't love that stuff!! One suggestion i would make - maybe when he's out of the cage, remove the ladder, so that he needs you to help him go home. That's what we did with Peanut, when he would try to head home he soon learned that the big finger was there to actually assist him, i think it helped alot!
Does anyone know if Peace Lily is okay? I have one on the table next 2 Peanut's cage, & notice he's nibbled a few leaves- he seems fine, & as this is the only green stuff (other than seed grass) that i've seen him eat, i don't want 2 discourage him! :rofl:
Droopy Loo Loo? :rofl: I had planned to name my next budgie Daffy (after Daffy Duck, or short for Daffodil if it was a girl) but my guy was such a funny little peanut (= silly person) that i couldn't name him anything but Peanut!
He's been a lil bit grumpy, not liking the hands much, but not 2 bad!

cute pics! the swing is really cool- reminds me of my little Peanut's playground!
