  1. What's the difference between a Yellowface Type 2 and a Goldenface?
  2. Name: Sky Sex: Female Color: Sky blue recessive pied Other mutations: Yellowface Type 2 Name: Louie Sex: Male Color: Light green recessive pied Other mutations: N/A
  3. So what's the difference between YF2 and goldenface? or is it the same thing?
  4. I'm so glad everything went good, I loved the story! and I was so into it that I didn't even notice any mistakes lol  It seems that your birds have access to a lot of space in your house?.. My mom would never allow that Their cage is still pretty big but I would love to just have a tree (playgym style) in every corner of my house and let my birds out as they pleased but No! The only place where they can fly freely is my bedroom and it is also the only place in the house that is budgieproof. I love your pictures -Corina

That sounds very familiar to me lol, my dogs and my birds just love to have me beg for them to turn around
  7. Great photos
  8. Cosmo is soooooooo cute!! I have a YF2 Dominant pied and he looks just like that.. his blue color I mean.
  9. Very cute
  10. 1. How old was your budgie (s) when you purchased him/her I'm not sure but these are my guesses: -Sky: 3 months -Fiona: 3 months -Snowflake: 8 weeks -Louie: 6 weeks -Jasper: 10 weeks -Sonny: 4 months 2. If you tamed your budgie right out of the nest, when did you start taming and handling the chick? All of my birds were from pet stores so I didn't get the chance to tame them right out of the nest 3. Was your budgie tame a little or not at all? Sky: Not at all but she was and still is very playful, and she seemed to know since the begginning that humans are good and the give food lol Fiona: No, way less than Sky and she didn't trust humans either.. Snowflake: A bit more tame than the others, she would let us hold her and she didn't freak out everytime I put my hand in the cage like Fiona did. Louie: He is the sweetest of them all, he would also let us hold him.. but he did freak out when I put my hand in the cage.. Jasper and Sonny have only been with me for a week so still working with them.. Jasper is very sweet, playful and smart and Sonny is shy and seems afraid of humans. 4. When you tamed your budgie was he the only budgie, or did you buy them in pairs, or was he an addition? Did your first budgie stay tame, and how did the taming go for the additional budgie (s) I bought my birds one at a time except for Sonny and Jasper but they are in different quarantine cages. None of them became very tame to start with so they are pretty wild lol Sky is the bravest one and she likes to come near people when they get close to the cage and it seems that Jasper is gonna be just like sky I'm not planning on taming them just let them be and be happy with their friends. As long as they are tame enough for me to handle them and do my bird owner duties is all good 5. What is your best tip you can give (don't say everyone else gave good tips (Laughing out loud)) what did YOU find worked well for you and WHY? Just let them be birds and be happy like that, every single one of them has a different personality so give them time to adjust, some birds may take longer than others so be very patient! Just try to make them happy!! If my birds are happy I'm happy  Anything else you would like to add? Budgies are very, very social so I think is best for them to have at least one budgie friend, and I definitely don't like to clip their wings.. They love to fly, I think is a beautiful thing to just let them fly around and be happy birds They also love it when you talk to them! so try to talk to them as much as you can and eventually they'll get used to your voice and get happy everytime they hear you

  18. Thank You .. Good thing his wings are growing back I really like to see my birds flying around, and I did remember about the food change this time! lol well actually I bought the same brand of food the store uses since it has the seeds and the pellets all in the same bag and its cheaper to buy it that way pellets and seeds for the price of one My only problem is that they don't like the pellets that much I think they are a little too big for their liking so I have to break them a little and that's the only way I can make them eat their pellets :happy-dancing:

  21. Okay I'll try to get some better pictures then they are so flighty right now though.. its hard to get good pictures
  22. Thanks for the advice I did not clip his wings I got him like that, I'm not really a fan of clipping my bird's wings and I think they cut them way too short.. and about the blue one.. I'm really hoping for a boy so maybe I'm not seeing things I should be seeing but his cere looks very pink to me and it gets blueish on the upper part.. there's definetly no white in there but I guess I'll have to see what he turns out to be once he gets older.. and if he is a hen then I will need to add two more boys to my flock lol
  23. I got these handsome boys yesterday Dominant Pied....... (a little help with his description?) Normal Blue I got them from different petshops so they are in different quarantine cages.. Also what would be their approx. age? The blue one is very young maybe 8-10 weeks old? The dominant pied must be much older since his iris are visible now.. .. and last question: The little guy seems to have a dirty vent, it wasn't like that when I got him yesterday, but it isn't clogged just a little stained, I thought about cleaning it with warm water? but I don't want to stress him out too much so maybe that should wait..
  24. oh I see and that would be because the lutino is a green bird which is dominant and the albino being a blue bird is recessive right? and that's why you get all lutinos if the lutino is not split for blue.. I get it! Thank You
  25. Quarentine is very inportant. My new birds are kept in the garage far away from the rest of the birds.I keep my new birds in my bedroom and the rest of my birds are in the living room.. is the best I can do since our "garage" is not connected to the house and is very cold.. we still have snow :glare: and even if it was summer it would still get cold at night.. Thanks for the info, I think I'll show it to my mom yea lol I'll tell her that too, She thinks I'm crazy for caring about my birds so much ..but they are my babies
