Who To Pair With Who?
I'll start breeding next year but this question popped into my head today so here it goes.. I have 2 birds, a cock and a hen.. and I'll be using my sister's 2 hens as well so that makes 3 hens and 1 cock. What would be the best combinations? I'll be getting another 2 cocks pretty soon..so will you suggest what types will be best to look for so I can get the best combinations possible? Here is my still young flock: (and I'll be breeding only pet type budgies) YF type 2 sky blue recessive pied hen Normal dark green hen Albino hen Green recessive pied cock (Light green or just green?)

Are These Plants Safe?
Thanks It does help and since my mom has lots of plants.. I figured I'll just keep my birds away from all of them just to be safe.. and we do have some pothos too.. My mom is crazy about plants just like I'm crazy about my birds Here are some other plants my mom keeps around: ..and again I don't know what they are..

How To Get Creaminos?
I've been looking at some pictures and creaminos look so beautiful ..so I was wondering how do you get them? what to pair with what? I know they are a combination of albino and yellowface but is there anything else to them? like does the albino have to be a cock or a hen? Is it a sex linked mutation? and what about the yellowface? I have no clue

My Budgies Don't Like Outside Time..
Whenever I let them out they will just wander around for a few minutes and then try to get back to their cage.. and it happens everytime! When I was a little kid I owned several budgies and they loved to fly around the house and eventually they would go back to their cage by themselves.. So what's going on with this budgies? I thought maybe they were afraid of the outside world!? so they just try to go to their safe place..which is their cage. I don't even try to take them out anymore.. They can still fly around in their cage and get enough exercise so I figured it would be okay..

Albino Moulting..
So I'll have to add more feeding stations.. which means more mess lol. But it does makes sense because they always want to do the same things at the same time ..Silly birds

Albino Moulting..
I have my four budgies in a cage this size: 48" Long 24" Deep and 36" High, they have about 8 different size perches (more than one at the same height), a big branch that provides even more perches, 3 swings, 2 water dishes and 2 food dishes (one for seeds and pellets the other for fruits and veggies) and 10+ toys and they still have a lot of empty space to fly around.. isn't that enough?

Albino Moulting..
Okay thanks I also figured that the blood on her feather is also due to an injury.. I saw her figthing with my oldest hen which is the bully of the flock. She is very possesive of things like food, perches toys and even the other birds.. and sometimes she is even agressive towards me. What can I do to stop her bullying the others without having to separate her from the flock?

Hallo From Quarantine!
You are really lucky to have such a great local petstore. Here where I live there's only 2 petshops and they don't have much variety to choose from.. and there's not many breeders here either Your birds are very nice

Albino Moulting..
Here is a picture: In here you can see the bloody feather.. The blood is all dried up now.. and there is also a little red hole in her beak.. what is it?

Quarantine Is Over
A whole month has finally passed and Louie was ready to go to the "big cage" as I call it. The girls (3 of them) bullied him when he first got in.. but it didn't seem to bother him much and the first thing he did was eat! Now they all get along..most of the time, and what the girls do now is flirt with little Louie Louie is still a little quiet and he doesn't seem to know what to do with the toys..but I'm sure the girls will teach him in no time. As for now the cage does look alot better with four little birds in it Soon there will be six..since I need two more boys to even out the numbers.. Here are some pictures:

He Turned Out To Be A Girl?
Yes of course My flock is way to young for breeding.. I start next year when they will be at least 15 months old. I do have one hen in breeding condition though but she is only about 6 months old.. so she will have to wait a year for that.

Albino Moulting..
Thanks ..that's what I thought but really I don't even know what to believe anymore.. So albinos are just like any other budgie but without any color right? and so are Lutinos.. and the difference is albinos are white based and lutinos are yellow based right? There is nothing much that is especially prone to affect an inos more than any other kind of budgie as a rule. They are just another colour or type mutation when its all said and done. Okay thanks. That clears up all the confusions I had.. about that topic anyway.. Some sites are very good at misleading people..

How Many Will Fit?
No............mixed cages are fine. Its always the girls that will fight over the best perches when settling down at night, so make sure there are a good few perches high up for them. If one wants to sleep on a swing they all will so sometimes removing a swing for the night is a good move if the hens bicker over it. Nothing resembling a good place to lay eggs means you should not have to worry about egglaying. Thanks for the advice as always I do have a lot of high perches in the cage and each budgie has their own swing, so no troubles at night at all.. they only seem to fight for their favorite toys even though they have alot and I mean alot of them.. they just seem to want the same thing at the same time always Especially Sky, my oldest hen which was the first budgie of the flock.

Albino Moulting..
Thanks ..that's what I thought but really I don't even know what to believe anymore.. So albinos are just like any other budgie but without any color right? and so are Lutinos.. and the difference is albinos are white based and lutinos are yellow based right? I'll try and get some pictures.. I checked more closely and the blood is all dried up and there's no signs of any more bleeding. It seems that is only one feather on each wing that was bleeding and it is the exact same one too.. I think it is a secondary flight feather in the edge of each wing (if that makes sense) Her primary flights are clipped. Unless the bleeding feathers were actually new primary flight feathers coming out? ..I better get some pictures.. is not very visible though..

He Turned Out To Be A Girl?
Snowflake's cere was pinkish when I first got her but then it changed to blueish white.. the whitest part is around the nostrils and she is about 3 months old.. does that help?
-
Albino Moulting..
Snowflake my albino seems to have started moulting some days ago and I noticed some blood on her wings, not alot just some drops on her flight feathers. She seems very happy though.. not like she is in any pain and she is acting normal..like nothing has happened. Why is she bleeding and what can I do? I read somewhere that albinos tend to have feather problems is this true?

He Turned Out To Be A Girl?
About a month ago almost everyone agreed Snowflake was a cock but now I'm not so sure about that.. what do you think? I say she is a hen..

How Many Will Fit?
Thanks I won't breed them in that cage.. I'm in the process of building breeding cabinets. So far I have four in that cage.. and I think I'll go with 6.. max 8.. thanks for the help My birds seem to get along most of the time..and yes the girls are the ones that start all the arguments.. but nothing serious. Do I have to keep the sexes separated? There's nothing in the cage that resembles a nest.
