I'm with everyone else and it sounds like a splayed leg. By the sounds of the age of the bird this person might have a chance at fixing it if she acts now. By taking the baby to a avian vet.
  2. woot I'm glad to hear the birds have won out in this case and gotten what they deserved in the first place.
  3. I looked hard at that but didn't think there was any sign of it in the wings.
  4. As stated from the first post That's right and a yellowface DF spangle will be a cream colour or patchy yellow and white. Like a creamino with out the red eyes.
  5. Only two clutches in the row and then at least 6 months break before breeding again.
  6. I'm gald your taking care of him now poor little one
  7. woohoo good little casper :hap:
  8. Birds can't be split for spangle it's a dominant gene. 50% sf green spangles 50% green dominant pied spangles Unless your hen is split for blue then you could get some yellowface blues as well.
  9. No they don't exclude each other but they are classed as one or the other. Yep that's sounds like the answer we have all created.

  11. wow I love that last one, not a normal pose or angle but stunning just the same (or maybe more becuase of it)
  12. :(Laughing out loud): Dominant Pied yellowface..type 2 I think and possible clearwing.
  13. Male ( and females) can breed when around the 6 month mark, BUT are not mentally ready for it yet. Ther are like human teenages at that age. So I don't think that is your problem. Give them some time remember it takes around 9 days for the first egg to arrive.

  16. I've gotten that before...Must be something to do with the screen name....Then again I was a tomboy when growing up Nothing new as yet. I'm itching to get the birds out into to so I can climb in with them I'll be getting things ready now for the week end and then add the gravel and sand. I'm trying this way and If I don't like it I will add the pavers to the ground. I also need to hunt down some more wood for them to have. My sister -in-law said I could go to her place and get some branches from her trees. I think I will have too there isn't many fallen over the road of late. Then toys and some more food and water dishes....boy the list doesn't seem to end :fear
  17. I still have my fingers crossed for you Kirby :ausb: I would candle them day 5 that is when I did mine and saw the faint lines. http://www.birdsnways.com/wisdom/ww36eiv.htm This is another site that shows candling. They are not budgie eggs so take no note of the days. But between picture two and three is what I saw on day 5.
  18. Im with Eterri It's better to tell someone. I myself after seeign the one before me treated like that would have demandeda net or another emplee to handle the bird I was after... but then that's me. I also know it's hard to speak up sometime. Believe me I've held off heaps of times becuase I was too shy to stay something then kicked myself for days or weeks afterwards. Now if it's animal care I don't care if I look like a crazy lady. These store rely on us to stay alive one little comment should have some big action in the care and treatment of their live animals, if it doesn't then it's not a store worth returning too. edit to add: I can't believe I forgot to comment on your little darling :ausb: What a cutie and I love the name.
  19. The due date for the last one was the 15th, BUT eggs can hatch one day 29, 20 21 and sometime 22nd day after being laid. That depends on how fast and well the mother bird started to brood. SInce today is the 21st day for the last egg I would wait a few more days. If you have numbered the eggs you could remove the first ones. Youc an also candle the eggs get a strong torch (flashlight) and shine the light through it, If it's clear and you can see yolk it means nothing will hatch and you can remove them all to either start the hens cycle again or give them a break. It is also up to what you think is right, if you want to wait a few more days to check this last egg (remember the others are too overdue to hatch now) that fine. The hen might give up in the next day or so herself and throw them all out. If you think nothing is going to happen remove them now.
