Pictures Of All Our Family Birds
I'm that mess was sorted with out the need of 'staff help' Lean it sounds like you do a fantastic job of re-homing birds in need of extra love and care. I myself was worried about the state of their cages but having read everything I understand that you were not the cause but the instead the solution, give these guys a great life which they should have had from the start. Sometimes it takes a while for hen to work out what a box is all about; it can help sometimes to add an egg on the ground into the box. That sure helped my hen work out what to do. Handling eggs should be at a minimum but it can be done. Not sure with Tiels but I think they would need some calcium to their diets too when laying eggs. A cuttle bone can help with that. Time out in a bedroom is fine with an untamed bird.

Tail Feather Question
Babies budgies have shorter tails than the grown ups but to have no tails is a problem. They could have damaged them in the cage they were in or they might have a feather condition that is making then moult them too fast and so never grow the long tails not normal. It would be wise I think for a check up.

Tweetaville Is Now Home
I don't know any other breeder near me other than Daz. Oh and Karen SO I can't asnwer that one. I have to find a few soon as i'm looking to find a match to Ringo. Dominant are sf or df. They are called dominant becuase that is how the gene acts. If they get the gene it shows. Recessive need to always be df becuase they need two genes to show up.

Tweetaville Is Now Home
I hope to have in many years to come babies for sale. Right now I can't see myself getting out of budgies. Marine is explained becuase Pie is only a SF pied. So Marine got his normal gene and Freckle is a SF spangle and he got her Normal gene too. The yellowface is from Freckle she is a goldenface herself.

Tweetaville Is Now Home
Squeaker was missing in the last one too. Jangles is always camera shy at that point he was sitting right up next to the wire to my right, trying to blend into the grey of the cage :(Laughing out loud): Thanks Pixie I hardly even get soggy budgies like that. It was a pitty the others had almost all dried out by then the other babies where looking cute like that too.

Sick Bird
Sorry I can't say what might be the cause, one I'm not a vet and two because many things that arise in our pets have the same symptoms. Can he still die even with treatment- yes, sometime even with all you do they still need to past over to fly free but if you don't do anything then that is a bigger possibility. The fact you are doing some as soon as you have noticed this means he has the best chance.

Opal The Casanova
I think you would be better of pairing Opal to one hen in a breeding box. Budgie males will 'cheat' on their partner and this sounds like that kinda bird. If left this way Rusty could be harmed or even killed in Opal's need to keep him away. But the hens could also turn on each other for the attention of Opal.

Butter Beak
Will never look at veggie mite the same now Karen :

Sick Bird
Troubled breathing isn't good at all. I would set up a avain vet appointment for him. The hen will cope alright with out him for that time and iff need be can continue raising the chicks alone, just give her extra fresh food and seed close to the box and watch if there is trouble with feeding the chicks in case you have to jump in and help caring for the young ones.

Babies Colors?
It's a bit hard to tell with these pictures. Mum is a sky blue. She might be a greywing/clearwing. Which means she should have grey toned wings rather than black. Dad looks to be a green and dominant pied it seems. I can see a patch of yellow on the back on the head. He should have a band of yellow on his chest like your other blue bird has a white band. He wing marks look brownish in the picture which could mean cinnamon. Is this right? or are they black? Your baby looks to be a dominant pied green and will look like some what his/her farther. S/he will be split for blue meaning when paired to another blue bird cam produce blue babies and green babies. Your other bird is as dingo stated.

Tweetaville Is Now Home
I can't believe you had to ask that DAZ!!! I don't like colony breeding for myself. and with a miss like Ringo that just LOVES her daddy...well disaster would happen. Plus I got that nice little (big) breeding cage off you. I'm hoping to put Ringo and her future love in there for spring breeding. That is if I can find a grown up male to match with her. As to Breeding with the others it's still all kinda half formed plans. Here are some piccies of them in the cage together: Reep had just had a bath in the drinking water like most of the others. Not the best shot of Ringo:

Anyone Ever Had This ?
Not like that but I think Homer had one that sleep like he was dead and so she someone else I think. I would freak if that happened.

Tweetaville Is Now Home
I was so excited yesterday Ringo was playing with my hair again and Marine came over and hopped on my should to nibble at my shirt, like he used to do. and so since Daddy was doing so it was the best place to be in the world and Reep and I think it was Berry..I wasn't moving to double check which blue babie ...joined him. I scared them at one point but been able to put up with the tickling around my neck but the soon returned on their own It was great and what I hoped to happen in a big avary.

Are You Trying To Butter Me Up?
Aww cute piccies I have a question about your ticker counter. Is it meant to me counting the days down until they met? since it's counting upwards not down. I think you need to change the dates.

Quiz Time Again
:(Laughing out loud): Well I for one think it's not all ways the case, it is an action they do natually and mine will to it a lot in the mornings and at night. But not often during the day. So I think yes it can be a sign of nerves at it also has to match the setting.

My Birds Colours
It's interesting little facts But I'm not after showing budgies. I enjoy myslef the small 'clowish' pet type budgies. But I can also see the work and grace in the show budgies too. As long as the bird is healthy I'm happy.

A Few Q's About Breeding
I myself would thing this is a good idea. I could kinda see it if you where willing to take the hatchling from birth to hand raise that way you don't have to worry abut the safetly of your budgie babies and the extra stress on the hen. Incubation for Tiels is 19-21 days so close to a budgie. and fledge date is 30-40 days where a budgie is 30-35.

Tweetaville Is Now Home
I wouldn't put a recessive to an aussy dominant pied (it's hard to break the two genes apart then, and no result like DEC) Pie is the grand-dad of Echo (who is a boy) and Scuttle is leaving me for a new home. I was thinking of matching Poka with Berry and try and find a cute little blue recessive pied for Biff to make another family line. Not sure on that bit yet. Of cuase this is all a year from now sort of thing. What be the problem Daz? Axel and Merkin look like boys to me. (where is Abu? ) Ohhh Poka is such a cutie. With that little green belly. Just to cear up something from my post above I was glad to find out he was a he I have almost same boys to girl ratio in the 'ville (girls rule just) edit to add: I saw your offer daz and I thank you but I had a family getogether planned. My Grandma got to see them all out in the big cage today. She loves me involed with budgies because my granddad's dad had them too. She loves the idea of someone in the family continuing with birds. (my granddad showed chooks)

:(Laughing out loud): I thought that would be the case........ Oh well one more for the steal list I can't wait to see him fully feathered

Budgie Poo...
That' sounds pretty normal to me. Fresh ones with my birds have always been a dark green colour and when dry black, with the white bit which is the urine. If it's a lime green colour then it can be a sign of sickness.
