Breeding Time
thanks daz you calmed me down again :offtopic: I was thinking they needed to be in order. I have enough for each bub with a few spares. The last egg had a few small cracks in it as if the one inside was hatching, but there is still a big air bubble so I think it's siblings might have done the damage, or I could be totally wrong and it is hatching. I only found the cracks after picking it up to check it.

Breeding Time
I was going to wait for tommorrow to get it and put it on Tingle. Since it fell off the other when it was done a day early. But Tootie is spending a bit of time out of the box today becuase it's quite warm. Well I just removed them all and had a dig around with Tootie chewing me up and still nothing :offtopic: There is a lot of shavings still in that box. Would it matter if I didn't use that number?

Posible New Budgie Owner
Depending on what you want out of the bird/s do you want one that will (hopefully) bond strongly to the family, happy to sit on shoulders? or to watch two that have heaps of fun with each other and be willing with lots of training to interact with humans sometimes. okay re-reading that it seems a bit bais to one side, which I didn't mean to happen. I started out with one bird she was alone and happy for roughly two years, i had her bonded to me to sit on my shoulder but not fully, she was quite happy to spend time alone as well. When I got her a friend I saw her really enjoy bossing him about. Since I didn't have the time to spend with her like I did before and really enjoyed them playing together. After that I breed them and havn't looked back with now 13 birds and 7 new babies. But that had always been a dream of mine. It's great that your coming here and ask before getting the birds.

With any small kid supervision is in order. You will be the one that has to be sure they are feed and have clean water and the cage it cleaned weekly. Plus the one to do the training so they don't bite. Training two can be harder than one, since they bond easier to each other than humans, but with extra work some have done this, such as Training alone in bathroom.

Four New Budgies
(Laughing out loud), I think we all are, Karen has another bird Curry that I can only work out as Clearbody even with the pink cere. He produced an ino baby so I believe a full Ino gene matched with a par-ino (the Clearbody gene) could give a male the pink cere rather than the blue cere. Karen do you know the age of this one?? Maybe you should have called this one Puzzle :(Laughing out loud):

Thanks PP I'm glad Ringo is doing well too, with out Kree she seems to be coming out more often to eat now, but along with the bits of millet I got a bottle lid and filled it with seed to put in the box with her, not sure if she has found it yet but it makes be feel better. Kree is having a ball in the avairy Poka is giving him a warm welcome with lots of flirting tips :offtopic: Bub number 5 is here this morning in Tootie's box (piccies comming) and I found out both band fell off sometime yesterday So I've rebanded Cupid this morning and I still have to find the other ring Also I forgot to shut the box again and Marine knows the way out now, thank god I shut the door before starting cause my cat was going nutty on the couch! okay enough yapping I'll get those pictures for you. The Sex Of Snowy
She is a cute, with the clear white rings around the nares it's safe to say female even though I can't really tell the colour of the cere in that shot.

We may have to wait to see her kids to be sure. Love the name China and Madam Don't foget the lacewings look spangle as well, and I'm trying to figure out of spangle with the cinnamon gene can show on Ino's (what lacewings are) or if you have some Fallows here.

This Weekend Trip
This depends on the birds, do they like to check out new things? If so it might be an idea to take them for this short trip, you stated they will have to be in this different cage at some point when you visit for longer. If you do make sure there is seed in the dishes and on the ground incase they have trouble finding it, also take some known fave toys along with them and lots of millet for treats. I will not state Yes take the birds or No don't, these are your bird and you have the final say. But there are a few things to think about.

My First Brood (sorry Now Fixed)

Mottled Rear
Thinking of this topic I watched my spangles out in the avairy (and realised I have 4 of them now!) and they all have spots like this on their back, two show birds, a pet store bird and a pet from breeder. They are at different ages as well. I think as I stated before it's normal for spangles to have this pattern

Thank again for that info Daz will all those names you can dish out I got a bit lost I was half right I was thinking Ganzer. Ringo's second egg hatched today Both are so so tiny. Good Grief I finnally did a leg ring!!! It took me forever to get it on about ten tries as the foot was kicked just at the wrong time Roughly twenty mins with the eldest (Cupid) and a bout the same for the second (Tingle) I'm sure I have then the right way around now since Cupids foot was bigger, I'm glad I tried today and not tommorrow as stated in the Budgie Tracker, I don't think I would have got it on. Not sure if it will stay on Tingles foot but After the other I thought I should put it on today and see. The band didn't stay on Tingles now I have to find it in the box with all the shavings :glare: and try again Kirby has helped me with the name of Ringo's little one, he suggested Mika which I liked and I changed it slightly to Minka. Mini for short :glare:

Breeding Time
Well I moved Kree out this morning, Ringo was very cranky with him so she is now all alone, Little Kazza is still being feed. He settledin nicely this afternoon with the others in tweetaville. Also during the day I saw Tootie's egg number 3 kicked to the side, I left it be then but it was still there later on (around 4) so I picked it up and it was cold. Opening it I found a lot of yolk and a small blackish bubble, couldn't tell it was anything that would have formed as a chick or not. I have no idea why this one didn't devolop but it really shows that a hen knows there is something wrong with an egg, the other two not yet due are still being kept warm.

What Is A Healthy Clutch Size
is she feeding them okay? I think she should be able to cope with them all if she isn't having any troubles. Are one of the others starting a second round?

Well think the colouring would still be up in the air, I only guess at opaline becuase of the past history of their chicks and what colours they gave me. oh and thanks for the french lesson Kirby
