Yep a very cute male there Groups of budgies are more inclined to bond with each other than with us humans, but when there isn't a nesting site (anything with a hole and dark space) then they don't try to breed.
  2. oohhh yes please with the picture Is one looking grey-green?
  3. :(Laughing out loud): Daz your a sweetie. I got them from a pet store, one I think is very good. Plus I asked at two places for some rings and this pet store was the only one able to tell me when they could get more in. I had ever seen metal ones before only the plastic coloured ones like you used on your older birds. Might have paid a bit more but I thought it worth it. They are made by Complete Pet and Vet supplies.
  4. aww what cuties Looks like you have opaline there and possible greywings.
  5. (Laughing out loud) he doesn't listen. I got a picture of all six of them in the box
  6. (Laughing out loud) would be great to get that too :budgiedance: Pie really is a bad boy he is now flirting heaps with Berry his granddaughter who is only 7 months!!!

Lutinos are pure yellow with red eyes A white (can be yellow as well) bird with black eyes is either a DEC (Dark Eyed Clear) or a Double Factor Spangle. It's easy to tell which one is which the first doesn't get iris rings the second does.

  16. Jazz's two eggs are now known as Kazza and Minka The hatched well and Ringo is taking great care of them. There is a picture back a bit of the first one.
  17. A small tube that you put down the budie throat which lets you put the food right into the crop. I wouldn't want to use one either The last Bub hatched over night WOOT. I havn't see him yet buried under all his siblings but I found the egg shell with the number on it. Will try for a picture later today. It wonderful to see the difference in Cupid and Tingle. One is so dark the other white. Storm and Darel are both getting black dots, as is Ringo's Kazza

what colour is Pete and what does the cere look like?? A picture would help, not to mention we love them Males will feed and flirt with other males, so seeing this behaviour isn't the only thing to take into account when trying to sex a budgie.

:(Laughing out loud): I love hte look Bobby is giving you. They look as if they are having a ball in there.
  20. Missmad- how many eggs are the others sitting one? If it's a small number you could foster some to her giving the now single mother a smaller lot to care for. I have a single mum with two chicks that she is caring for well. It's her first time as well. I give her a small bit of millet each day in the box and added a bottle lid of seed in the corner. As extra to the seed, water and vegges outside in the cage. Owner70- I cant tell you want killed your male, it could be contagous an autpsy by a vet might help. The messy face could be from feeding the young or vomitting. Again you could move the last egg to another and if the other couples are only feeding a few you could also move the bubs if they are around the same age. I personally don't colony breed and so am not sure what the other couples will do to the single mother.

  23. *Nerwen* replied to a post in a topic in New to BBC
These three are the same bird so you can see their can be a change in the colour depending on light and flash.
  24. they look Opaline to me Lovey great names I like: Opal, Rascal, Seven and Jasper.... Bea has a Jasper so I'll drop that one Seven becuase he is the seventh baby born overall Rascal is just cute Opal is cute too..... Opal it is If he is a yellowface it suits because Opals are blue with hues and flecks of other colours and if he becomes an Opaline well it speaks for itself
