Only things like patforms for them to rest on and such, correction of the problem can not happen now it needs to be caught very early in the nest to get corrected.

The hens in budgies will always have the brown crusty cere no matter what their colour is. With males there are some type of colours that keep the pink cere of a baby boy. All the red eyed mutations keep the pink colour as do recessive pieds and DEC.

No it was cracked from the bars on the bottom of the cage, it wasn't that close to the nest I think she might have laid it while on the branch. But she is happy and moving easily. Poor girl,do you have any others set up? Ringo laid another egg too today sometime which is on time for her again. All warm from her sitting. Friday I hope the first hatches form Tootie.

sound like a better plan :budgiedance: I found an egg at the bottom of the cage this morning in tooties and Marines cage and paniced that she threw one out! but there was no writing on it, so she laid a late egg last night, I hope she is alright and isn't going to lay another. She is still stilling happily on the eggs. Since I had to bug her to check her after finding that I checked all the egg and the last one has the start of red lines too

Yes its normal for the male try mating everytime the hen leaves the box no matter the age of babies, she will do as your did and tell him off until she is ready again.

i think it's the act of bonding and such that has set off coco more than any possible mating between bars, but I think it could be possible.
