about now they start to show if they don't have any on the body by a week i would lean to opaline. The wings should get black marks.

Daz with the first egg you gave me did any of the chicks become cobalt or yellowface cobalt?? OR where they all sky blues? The two close together Storm and Darel (who i think is yours) are colouring differently. Storm is a whitehead with dark feathers showing around the tail (cobalt) while Darel is a yellowface with light teal showing around the tail now. I was wondering if the dark factors will be the key to telling them apart for sure. Right now it is only my feeling about the longer tail length that was showing before and the 1gram differance in weight.

sorry it's a 'all up in the air' type answer She is so very cute. If she is that sort of colour real life, I would lean to type 2. Jade? Mystic?

it's hard to say with young ones on which type they are (1 or 2) She has white wing edges which could indicate type 1 but yellow tail feathers ( the small ones underneth) that could mean type 2. The greey look to the body can be made from a sky blue with a flash. We may just have to wait for a moult with this one.

Monday Karen Sister in law borrowed the camera for the weekend to get shots of her riding her new horse cross crountry. Hopefully then little Libra will have some colours showing too Your Great Grandchildren (who I keep thinking as two girls ) are doing great. yeah I'm not sure about the violet either the cheek patches are not the deep blue that violets get. Don't forget also the range of colour in cobalts can differ slightly, not all will have the exact same shade.

But it can work if the cage is around the same as a breeders cage, the first pair I ever breed with was in a normal cage and i still use that cage today as a breeding cage.
