WOW thanks you so much for sharing pictures of your bird! I have hunted high and wide for a good picture such as theses of a half sider since I first read about them. You also have a great looking set up. Have you plans to breed this one later to get more or are you not really looking for the unusual types? Also can you show us pictures of her mum and dad?

Check the cere of that one it is highly possible it's a girl. Keep an eye on him and that he still does feed them after something like that. I think that is so funny to hear wings bashing everything and the others telling them off. Mine 'nibbled' hard as well, i think they are just learning about the world and don't realize they are hurting us. I either got something else to distract them or put them back down for a minute or two.

Sco-tie looking at the shot of her back I can't see any head spot. I think the patches on her chest are from her flying.

It sounds normal..ish. (Laughing out loud) a bit vague but I didn't check he egg in the later stages much. I remember checking a few the last round and worried about a large air pocket but the chick still hatched.

I'm glad they are doing well. It looks like different coloured fluff feathers showing on the oldest two. Will be interesting to see their colours.

I've seen some bush ones and I agree they are so very very tiny compared to the others types. (show and pet) As to the colour green hard to sell, I think it's becuase there is such a range of colour now days that people want an interesting color and pattern.

No black dots on the body that I can see.I checked on the babies this morning and the second one now has dots in the same place aswell,they are just starting.No white babies this time.Thanks Nerwen Well we can't reall say what snowball can be hiding, but the fact both seem to be looking as opaline I would think Aussie is the dad of both.

Clear bodies are a nice bird I love Tootie. Either another clearbody or an ino hen would work for that sort of line with Squeaker. possible but I wouldn't be holding my breath for it.

Ice burg is full of water and will make the poop's runny which is why you shouldn't give them a lot of that (if any at all) But the other 'fancy' types of lettuce is fine.

Daz- Pie is Grandfather to Berry. Ringo is Squeakers Aunt. So you wouldn't worry about the size at the moment just try to get good spangle markings first? Bubbles- With all the genetic running in my head I don't think i can just work with instinct Hurdy- I know Kree isn't split for blue his dad was a normal green and his mum was a greygreen.

If I didn't put them up as possible mates then I'm not going to. I know many will breed grand daughter to grandfather and aunts/uncles to nephews/nieces BUT I don't think there is a NEED for me to try that out now with these birds, if I had some very special show birds I would look into it. Thistle to Kree is one reason I posted for idea I love DF spangles and would like to get some, but would putting a very small 'pet' bird to one of my few show bird worth it? Would I be better picking one of the larger hens (Reepi or berry) to get bigger bubs? I got Thistle with the idea of putting Squeaker to her to get all you listed -yellow face normals -yellow face spangles -blue spangles -yellow face blue spangles as well as(becuase of the splits): Opaline spangles Yellow face Opaline spangles Clearbody hens I think i'm more confused on who I want with who now than before

Berry can't go with Squeaker they are brother and sister. Can you say why you picked them that way?

The other thing I thought of (adding to Bubbles ideas) is to move the front perch down so that the highest is the one is at the back under cover. I have a few that settle in for the night griping the wire in the corners. Very silly birds they are sometimes.

Both are looking good. The first looks to me like an opaline. Since I can't see black dots on the body, just the wings. Are there black dots on the body as well or not?

I hunted through ALL of my bird pictures and you would think owning six spangles I would have one of the underside of their tails Since your bird is a pied I don't think he will have any tail markings ( pieds have clear tails)

I've been playing with ideas on partners for when I start a round this year. That will not be until around March (at the moment) I'm not planning on put up all the pairs I can just a few but I keep wondering which would be the best to try. So I'm asking you for ideas. That's the one I love joey, looks a bit like a yellowface violet pied dilute.
