  5. Karen So Jazz's Mum is an Albino is Dad and Lt Green Dominant Pied?
  6. You can start to think about candling them to see how they are going. Candling eggs - Information Don't worry too much at this stage. Out of the last 7 egg I thought 5 was clear but they were late starters. Only two were.
  7. I take it that you are hand feeding the chick. The hand rearing mixture if mixed correctly for the chicks age should do the trick.
  8. Have you had a chance to read up on breeding so that you are prepared this time?
  9. umm big party I better get prepared... :dbb1: Who's bringing the chocolate easter eggs :ausb:
  10. ...By the sound of it, I better get the BBQ fired up. Una can you bring the prawns (Shrimp)? I'll do a macadamia and lemon Snapper with a Thia Prawn salid....
  11. The oldest will take over the role of mum and will help feed him so don't worry too much.. You have someone to watch them ....haven't you?????
  12. aww time for the yoiung to fly the coop.... Now to keep an eye on them
  13. Sound like plenty of good advice...... Not a lot of room to expand on. Just make sure you have some hand raising formular. Knowledge how to use it, and the number of a good Avian Vet. There are some links to good advice in my signature.
  14. I have heard from a breeder that he takes eggs away from some hens to give them a rest. He fosters them up to two weeks latter and they still hatch. Because they haven't started incubation the count starts from when they start to incubate them not when they were laid. Yours could be late incubating. I am sorry for your loss and hope that it has been a learning experience that you can use latter.

NatalieZ get some huled oats and soak them for an hour in hot water. Let them cool and drain them and mix that in with your egg and biscuit. 1 part of oats to 3 parts egg and biscuit. The soft oats will be coated with the egg and biscuit and the birds will go for the oats and get the taist for the egg mixture.
  23. Eterri has some great information but to answer the first question Yes you can give them too much vegies. They need a seed base diet and if they eat too much vegies they wont eat their seed. Particular Vegies are good for them Endive is probibly one of the best ... if you can get it. But it's like a kid sitting down to a health meal and filling up on milk. Milk is good but if they are full of milk they wont eat there dinner. As they say - "All in moderation"
  24. I think Eterri has a link on her signature to a good site that showes different ceres. You can also read through this site - Budgies Galour There should be some good ideas there.
  25. One thing to remember is even if you catch them mating, the hen will not lay unless she is happy with a nest box. Yes they will consider a seed dish or a spot in the corner. George and Angel have been caught mating on and off for the last two months but we get no babies. The hen decides if she will lay not the male. Phoebe, don't know what to do about yours, but I'm not drinking any Canadian water thats for sure.
