New Aviary
If you look up at the top left breeding cage you'll see the nest box mounted outside on the front. I'll take another shot when I get the pairs set up.

New Aviary
Update..... I have finished the next phase. I have built the storage cuboard for under the breeding boxes and have it in the breeding part of the aviary. I moved the breeding boxes in and you should have seen the responce. The other came down to see the breeders. The breeders got excited... Hope this all means Eggs.. Outside view. Looking inside. The nest boxes have been place in one of the storage area. I am going to built another 3 single breeding cages to match and put them where the nest boxes are in the picture. This is looking across from the boxes. Jazz, Bob and Chime. All the pairs failed there first setting. I have given them the week off and will reset on Saturday for the next try. What do you think?

What's The Difference
Here is a skyblue spangle. Normal wing feathers have the black markings inside the shape of the feather where by the spangle have it on the outside edge of the feather. A double factor spangle looks like an albino except with black eyes. Double Factor Spangles Spots - None Body Colour - Full colour Markings - to be absent Eyes - Black with Iris ring Cheek Patches - Silvery White Tail Quil - neutral Tail - Approaching Body Colour Primaries - Approaching Body Colour

Problem With Hand Rearing Chicks
Well I am a big user of Vetafarm so I can't say thats the problem. Have you got the mix consistency correct?

Mom Is Plucking
Glass will do. The hen doesn't want to be in a postion where she can get hurt. An open nest is not safe from preditors. But she will try to keep her chicks fed. So the thought is that she only goes in the box when she has to, to feed her chicks. Then she gets scared and leaves. Some breeds hang a peice of thick string from the top of the box. Same thing. Here is some other ideas. Feather Plucking

Mom Is Plucking
Shell Get some clear perspex and replace the nest box lid with it. THe hen should still enter to feed the chicks but will not hang around to pluck them. Give it a go?

Don't Know What To Do - Any Help Appreciated
Just keep in touch with your vet over the next week or two until you have him in a good routine. Medication will help but you will have to get the dose right for him. This is where your vet will help. Good luck and let us know how you go

I Have Seen My Birds Mating
godsdrummer209 how old is the female? If she is not 12 months of age I wouldn't try to mate her. Hens go through cycles for breeding if she is not in the right part of the cycle she will not breed. If she is new, you should have her in quarantine before introducing her to your birds. She maybe carrying a disease?
