Does This Sound Real?
Kirby after 5 days out of 7 eggs only two showed they were fertile in my last clutch. I left them and got 5 chicks. Times I touch the eggs. To orginally mark them. 1st Candle after 5 days. last candle after 16 days (2 days before hatch) ....or if I have to foster them. (Last resrot) Too much handling can adle (scramble) them. Great link Nerwen. I'll keep that link.

Max And Sherbets Family.
Either you have some hinden genes or someone has been playing around. Max looks like a sky blue spangle and Pickel looks like a dominant pied . But Mum from this distant looks like a lutino.

Wing Clipping
I only clip the first four flight feathers. The Bird can still fly quite well. It just slows them don't a bit. I leave my chicks with the parents till they are 42 days. (6 weeks) then for 2 weeks in the nursary box. Sp they are 8 weeks before they go to the flight.

Wing Clipping
Wing clipping is an interesting debate. I only clip wings of pets that will be allowed to fly free in the house. I know that sounds like a contridiction but it teaches them that the glass windows and doors can't be flown through. It does it in a safe way. I only clip the wings of my birds (House kept) once in their life. Previous Discussion Information on Wing Clipping

Fat Budgie
Hi Rainbow. I couldn't imagine a budgie at 180 grams. This is figures we have been told from birds in England. Here is Ash at 74 grams. He is a bit under the required length of 9.4 inches (240mm) 2003 Standard. He is a good flyer and I wouldn't call him fat. With the birds I have only one is below 40 grams. My Webpage - go to Photos to see my birds. The top row are all over 60 grams at time of the photo.
