I would surgest a course of Probotics for the stress. Probotic.
  2. Natasha, Colours come from both sides or from one side. It depends on the dominant gene. Green is dominant to blue so if the male is green and the female is blue the babies will be green. Or possibly Green split to blue. Here is a post I put up. It may help you.
  3. Karen I asked you not to use my photo

  7. Are you going to breed them in the aviary Jen or in another location?

Patches if you are on the northside of Brisbane (like me) there is a club at Lawnton. If not try this link. South Queensland Budgerigar Breeders Assoc. Clubs If you want rings to track your budgies. Try this Pet Store it's one of the best. It has split and closed rings. Plain and Numbered. The Pine Rivers Budgerigar Club Website in in my signature.
  9. At 21 days Dad should be taking over full feeding any way. Keep an eye on dad to make sure he is feeding them. If you have any millet put it in the nest box. 100mm at a time and don't worry. Are you breeding them in an aviary or a breeding box?
  10. Here he comes with the show benches, and the humongous budgerigars that look like pigeon size with chicken heads!! We do not care if our small size budgies (all much lovelier then those “best in show’s” you so love) do not make show levels… well I’m actually glad they don’t. I bet you if we showed them to their original creator (God) our little Australian budgies, so imperfect to your eyes, would get approved and show ones wouldn’t. : LOL Just kidding….. I do not want to be kick out by an administrator!! LusoPeriquito I have both. I enjoy both sides to the hobby. ...and I am glad you picked their heritage.
  11. I also thought it was sleepy or bored as we do it as well/ Mine also lift their wings up after the leg.
  12. No Problem if you want a girl. Yes Axel and Merkin are males. I am keeping Abu, and either Axel or Merkin or both Don't know yet. I am going to keep a male and female from each clutch. So Poka and Biff will be going. I have enough Pieds. Poka will be split to Cinnamon and Biff is a pure Recessive Pied.

Sorry budgiebird, in my original post I should have put 2003 not 03, just commenting that had thoughts that red was for 2003 Daz, how do you find out if the ring is registered? And who it belongs to(which breeder) Details on Olives ring are IBS 1385 and then across the ring(not around like the other info) is a solid triangle and the number 3. Thats an open ring... A novist (like me) it is Ipswich Budgerigar Society. Ring no. 1385 and the bird was hatched 03. My rings are PR 376 06 to PR 400 06. (Gold for 2006) To find out who breed that bird you will have to contact the ring stewart or a committee member. The best way to do that is to Contact the President of SQBBA. Web Site.. Tell him you have a bird that is rung with IBS rings and you are trying to contact the club. or sorry here is the details. Ipswich and District Budgerigar Society Inc. Secretary: Julie Trebbin Address: 37 Head Street, Laidley 4341 Phone: (07) 5465 1236 e-mail: jtreb1@eq.edu.au Link to advertised information.
  14. Umm Nerwen I have a problem that you might like.. It's clear that Poka is a boy but Biff is a girl. Todays Photo. Oh here's Axel And Merkin ...and we can't forget Poka

Ash's Ring is IBS RS -04 013 I am still trying to track the breeder. Seems the ring isn't registered????
  16. sorry LusoPeriquito but Nerwen, Karen and I are luck enough to be with in an hours drive of each other. Some of the others like Lin are on the other side of Australia. 5 to 7 hours by plane. Adam is 2 1/2 hours by plane from me. Una is 3 hours and a long drive from me. So we are not so lucky.
  17. Parblue is a term short for Parital Blue on green. It occurs to a blue bird when the yellow face bleeds into the blue changing it to green. There are two forms of this mutation. a yellow face and a golden face. The golden face is more buttercup yellow, like Nerwens bird. They are pretty birds but no good on the show bench.
  18. Know to me he looks a bit thin in that shot. But thats good. I'd love to see a front shot Karen. His shoulders look powerful. Pity you don't have a boof head female to pair him with. He needs some work o his head.
  19. Yes you could be right... It's hard to say when you have a violet apear. In the show Budgies they are considered good but you need very good records to track them.
  20. Broken Necks coming up. He yours Nerwen. I'm home alday today making another breeding cage and painting the nursary.. you can have a look at him if you like.
  21. Nerwen the one on the left looks Golderface Parblue. Also with Squeaker becareful who you breed him with. He will inhanse some colours like lutinos but will mess up others. He will make Dark greens look Olive and Sky blues look Colbalt. (But they are not true colours) So you have some Sf Dark Factor Birds... Try for a Double Factor Dark Factor
  22. The two new birds are both 52 grams. And I wouldn't say fat either.
  23. No he's not a colbalt, he's too dark. I'd say a double factor blue or a violet.
  24. Remember that this disease has "Changed Name" Now called Avian Yeast disease. Apparently we are hearing that a teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar in 1 lt of drinking water is very helpful in controlling the out bursts. If then it occurs Megabac S as Karen said.
