No not normal. Usually one hen will fight the other and distroy the egg. If you are colony breeding (not surgested) then you need twice as many nest boxes as there are hens. They should be located apart so that the fighting is reduced.

Violets don't carry a dark factor gene they carry a violet gene Mauve & Olive carries a double factor dark factor. Colbalt & Dark Green carries a single factor dark factor Sky Blue & Light Green carries no dark factor.

This is mum. Dark Eyed Clear Note the colur of the cheek patch. This is baby...... By the way the baby is to the current Australian Standard and Won Best DEC in the February show. Mum and Dad is penalised due to incorrect Cheek patches.... Colour of cheek patchas, Tail Quils and Tail Feathers will help with Identification but it is not always right... As you can see.
