Yellow Face
Genetically we call the type II a parblue when it occurs in a blue bird. There is an other type of Yellowface which is discribed as a goldernface parblue. The goldenface is more "Buttercup" than the type I or Type II. Note for show budgies: type II and Goldenface is marked down on the bench.

Lack Of Feathers
Dehydration after leaving the nest is a big cause for the flights and tail feathers to either drop or not develop properly. Revise your management in water supply.

What Colour Chicks Would I Get?
Your results could be: Either Grey or Blue but all would be split to recessive pied Normal crossed with a Recessive pied the outcome will be normal split to recessive pied. The photos are a bit small for me to see the colours what colour is the recessive pied?

My new Boy http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a26/darrylw/CBS-4357.jpg I'll try to get a better shot of him. He is a light green opaline. Unfortunately the breeder bred opaline to opaline and he has lost some wing markings. I'll be breeding him back to a normal to bring the markings back.

Stop Breeding
This is one problem regarding Colony breeding. In a closed breeding set up. You decide who will breed with who and when. This is a bit of my set up. Breeding cages with nest boxes. The flight is for enjoyment not for breeding. Edit * This is an old picture. I am now up to 9 breeding cages or 7 breeding cages and 2 nursaries. :fear

Box Problem......
If you have another pair breeding and they are just starting to lay eggs you can foster the eggs to them.

Me Again
Hi Hellybell it looks like you have a skyblue spangle girl. I have bred Spangles. Tiny on the right. Chirpy in the middle http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a26/darrylw/budgies028.jpg Spangle on the Right is a parblue Golden Face Spangle A normal budgerigar wing feather is black with a colour edging it. This goes for Opalines as well. A spngle is in reverse. The colour is in the centre with a black edging. If the edging is poor or dull we usually call it a week spangle in the show world.

Don't be embarassed. We all have to start somewhere. When I first started I thought my Recessed pied was a dilute. . That is what we are here to help with. Helping people understand budgies more. Can you post a picture of your bird and we will try to tell you what he is and why?
