Some Chicks Out April
it is the same dom pied just been eatting carrots :ohmygod: the whole aim of breeding doms is the perfict marking (band across the belly her band is very large not something i want to breed into my doms but she will be defenently staying how ever if i get a randomly patched dom pied it will defenently go no matter how good it is as to breed the perfict band all pieds must have it to keep the chances of breding it in their (in my experiances anyway )their is one or to chicks i may sell but most are stayers depending on the birds heritage and type splits ectra really depends on the price i would as i havent really sold my show stock chicks any that are not up to show stock stranded get classed as pet type and sold for between 10 and 30 dollors again depnding on mutation collor and background i just sold all my chicks and culls recently i have a few club members whom have culls (quiet a few too)im trying to get them to give me a list for you guys to look at and hopefully some pictures but no promises will see what happens with that dead? what happened? ME he is a great chick. nice head. love the pied chick. nice size.

Please Explain...
name='SftWrmRain' date='May 25 2010, 02:46' post='345056'] name='alpaca-boy' post='345046' date='May 24 2010, 07:09']hi all! well from what i know mauve is a d/f of blue it is 2 d/f to create mauve BUT WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MAUVE AND GREY? as i though that mauve looked grey so people just called it grey? i went on this site that dsaid it was a colour adding factor like violet! but violet only changes the shade of blue to make it purplish, yet you can still tell if its a cobalt or violet but grey? can a bird be sky blue, but have this grey factor thing, or is it just grey as in the base colour would be grey not sky with grey on top like violets? please help me someone. im very confused :ohmygod: alpaca-boy The way I understand it is: Grey is color adding like violet, but grey is much stronger than violet, completely overriding the base color making it difficult to distinguish it's original color. There are 6 different variations of grey - skyblue grey, cobalt grey, mauve grey, grey green, medium green-grey, and olive grey, as well as I'm SURE many varieties of each category. So, determining the exact base color of a bird that also displays the grey gene can be difficult. Concerning the difference between mauve and grey: Grey is a bird that does not show any blue in it's coloring when you look at it with the naked eye, even though it's base color could be blue. A mauve bird is a blue with 2 dark factors. Dark factors do not change the original color, but only darken it, so you should be able to see some blue mixed with what appears to be grey. Also, grey birds have a distinctly grey cheek patch, whereas mauve does not. but i beg to differ on cheek patch thing in my understanding of my own breeding out comes a grey bird with what they call french blue cheek patches is a grey bird breed from a blue and grey pairing meaning the grey bird is more than likely to produce you blue chicks as well as grey at a higher rate than say a grey bird with grey check patches to a blue bird if that makes sence a grey bird breed from two greys with grey cheeks will also have grey cheek patches a greybird breed to a grey bird one with grey cheeks one with french blue could pass on the blue/grey colouring and chicks could have french blue or grey cheek patches this may make no sence but if you know how to understand me you will know what im meaning the stuff SftWrmRain said this is exactlly what i could never have got out but is true

Jetrick's Breeding Journal
Very sad to hear Patrick definitely the cock that did it ? Very sad to hear Patrick  definitely the cock that did it ? Hi Kaz Yes unfortunately he more or less scalped her. I haven't had a problem with vermin and a cat attack seems unlikely also. Whether she's resisited mating with him or similar I'll never know. They're not exhibition quality, but sad all the same! Cheers Patrick Thats no good but I guess breeding is all about the ups and downs, isn't strange for a cock bird to kill a hen? usually it's the hen doing the damage. Thats no good but I guess breeding is all about the ups and downs, isn't strange for a cock bird to kill a hen? usually it's the hen doing the damage. Hi Taboo Normally I would agree with you but in this instance the hen concerned was quite passive and the cock bird was more aggressive and can certainly bite, which is quite the opposite for nearly all my birds. She was just a bit unlucky. Cheers Patrick Hi Houman, Yes chicks are fine and thanks for asking. Thanks for the tech advice! Cheers Patrick lol oh boy its that easy i never ever knew how to do that thanks houman ps you sure not rat

yep i know theres one in springvale. ive kept a record of how many times she sneezes and quite frankly its alot. one thing ive just realised recently her beak is kind of wierd, doesnt look like mites but the sides look as if there broken, like there uneven. is this because shes a baby and its still hasnt fully developed or??, ill try to get some pics but itll be hard her beak looks weird ???? it cant be mights your bird can not have mites or worms it was ivomectomed at two weeks innest then again at 6 she would be due now again around june so not long you take her to vet if you feel the need and i will help you with half cost of conseltation but any more is up to u but to be honest she seemed fine here yes she snezzed but not heaps but not enough for me not to be concened (you would not have her if i thought she was ill i treated her as i did all my birds (well you did the treating but i treated mine all for same days with same stuff my birds are all fine and tammy sneezed less than some them i kept them warm for two weeks at a temp of 27 and constent regulated not on off but now their back to no extra warmth i do find it weird shes snezing and only thing i was concered about is she may have got cold in nest box and it be something worse than just cold as shes had snezzing from two weeks old worse as in pneumonia but to find out if she had that im sure would invole exrays and all sorts she cant have a infection as was treated with oxy b for three days but i dont know why shes snezing mate im at a lose let me know what you deside its not my choise as not my bird if its any help im not takeing my birds to vet and some their are still after everything still snezzing but its cold as was 4 degree last night so..... im sorry i have no awnser or advice for you im sure others here may tell you theirs if you ask and guys i would not be afended if you tell houman your opinions as i truley dont know what to tell him PLEASE SOMEONE ADVICE HIM IN RIGHT DIRECTION TAMMY IS VERY PRESIOUS AND IM A BIT FRIGHTENED OFF FROM VETS SO >>>>> SHOULD HE TAKE TAM TO VET OR NOT WHAT SHOULD HE DO ABOUT HER SNEZZING CHEERS
