Rainbow Budgerigar?
what can i say to that rip your very tharow as with me i just relayed what i was explained by a breeder when i was 12 so..... and i adopted this methord in my pet breeding flock GB I learnt a very long time ago to not believe everything I heard from ordinary folk. The only thing I cannot find is why the American's came up with that term. When you look at the history in regards the usage of the word even that has a few missing pieces. i learn t myself a long while ago rip that you were a very reliable source so i am not bagging you in anyway just commending you for your extensive effort into the resource of your posts i know first hand words you speak are from researched knowledge not just thoughts why i turn to you for my genetic references when in doubt

Big Red Bump On Budgies Neck
i agree with others vet job find out what your dealing with it may be as simple as dave said a cyst if its hard lump possably cancerous either way needs atention to find out what then you can asses what from their needs doing but unless bird is going light and not healthy looking if cancerous i dont see why u would need to put down we dont put down unless in defenent pain and not eatting

Rainbow Budgerigar?
its just old school for a golden face cobalt or sky blue or violet spangled( usually) rec pied thats all even golden face norm rec pieds as the five mixes colours hence the name harlequin black yellow green blue white flights on wings not all rec pieds are refered to as harliquins only these goldenface type for the reason i stated to tell between dark green and sf gf birds in cobalt easily in your flock again a pet type breeder thing

Rainbow Budgerigar?
Clearwing is an actual mutation, not a description yes as in a clear wing budgie as it shows up the Opaline very well my budgie is as i said a description not an actuall rainbow but close as i could get to showing you since i went into show birds i stopped my effort to breed a full rainbow however for myself when i get the right mutations im going to breed them in show size although im frowned a pone for this i was told breed lorriceets if i want to breed rainbows how ever its my time my birds my want so i will be doing it but first i need to get all the mutations needed it took me three years to just get to the one you saw you can get their a lot quicker but i started at scratch before i got to the clear wing i went in to show birds i have the dom i have a the violet i have a yf type 1 cobalt and spangles i just this time am going to start with clear wings which i dont have yet but some breeders i know have clear wings so maybe it wont be to far off when i do i will do a full breeding journey to the end rezult that would be fun im getting astralian yf soon i hope i had one but he was never quiet right and went to haven

Rainbow Budgerigar?
well theirs diffrent types of rainbow budgies but a true rainbow would be classed as a df goldenface clear wing opaline dom pied in violet ,skyblue ,mauve or cobalt these can be added two with spangle ideally you keep out cinnamon but mostly people breed a part rainbow which has cinnamon instead of clearwing te diffrence is the beautiful bright colours are dulled to pastel here is a cinnamon goldenface voilet opaline dom pied hen i breed note the clear split of the three colours green yellow and violet the rainbow efect and on the back the opaline v is blue going down to green and flights are clear white back also yf type 1 are used for rainbows the clear wing one is the true one

My First Go At Captive Foraging
well i wouldn't want to hop in a small takeaway container with millions of un known objects can i suggest you find a very shallow tray or even just use bottom of cage as i certainly would not go their if i was a budgie also no room to play ball if molly is tame maybe find a place out side cage for her foraging play and lessen the amount of objects mind you i never set up a foraging thing for my birds how ever they do this naturally in their cages on flat dishes with horse chalf and small cuts of fruit

Ivermectin
A good part of the problem here may have been dosage strength compared to bodyweight iof the nestfeathers. The one drop of the right strength product is based on a 30 gram average bird. Some may be either side of that in weight. if doing chicks in nest or just out your ment to drop just above their oil duct gland so it takes a bit longer to go through out their system i do mine in nest i do on bum not neck if in nest i never had issues i guess it depends on you dropper size also

Ivermectin
i get the same size bottle from vet as they sell at the sheilds i only pay 10.00 theirs is eighteen so im happy with that i dont use mine after the date vet said it will keep one year in fridge

New Budgies
yes its enough to want to give up the show breeding all the lovley rezults you must have a cobalt though as sky and sky violet wont give you the veriation you want still pretty though i just relized i put up a picture of grand son not dad they looked spitting image only dad was cobalt not sky
-
New Budgies
who is also australian golden face single factor sky blue rec pied you have the first step to breeding rainbow rec pied like this theirs a golden face single factor rec pied cock here in this picture and a golden face single factor dom pied cinnamon opaline violet hen if you want doms its same process only doms are going to show straight way in nest 50 /50 percent i paired two pairs , first pair was this hen and this cock the second pair was a same breeding but oposet sex (pied was hen cock was skyviolet) and i got these chicks then from though chicks i bred the most beautiful pied and normal birds of the most lovely lilac and blues yf and ll beautiful as all the chicks were split receive pied and when i paired the other pairs chicks together with these chicks the colours were divine some examples through clearwing into that mix and beautiful

New Budgies
so its a df spangle ???? which makes it blue serried so you would get same out come as you would with a albino except instead of ayf sf / albino cocks you would get ayf sf df spangles and spangles hens and cocks and dompied spangles hens and cocks and df spangle dompieds hens and cocks and depending if the df spangle cock is opaline or not you would get if he was ,... opaline spangle dom pieds and opaline spangles and opaline df spangles and opaline df dompied spangles if hes not opaline your cocks would be split opaline (from mum ) but no opaline chicks in nest and if shes cinnamon you would get all cocks split cinnamon as well as opaline and if the cocks / opaline you will get opaline hens in nest with all the othr goodys and oh theirs just one more if hes split cin you will get cinnamon hens and if split cin and opaline the hens will be opaline cin or opaline or normal ive probbly missed something like i cant remember if a split cock can get you a cock of a sex linked with a sex linked hen i forget to tell truth i dont think so but dont take my word on that but as you can see lots of opatunity for beautiful chicks also depending if hes masking sky or cobalt depends on colour out come your best to put a cobalt or a violet ever a mauve to a sky blue for the most colour out comes cause light blue n light blue equals yep light blue also you wont get albino hens  Oh, GenericBlue, I am sorry, I have no idea what that all means. Thank you for such a lovely detailed reply. All I want to do is breed pretty rainbow pieds. I do not know the background of my white budgie, Beau. He is about 8 or 9 months old now. Here is a picture of him. (The hen on the right of the picture came from Liv.) He does not have red eyes. They are a dark plum colour. its cool i was just writing the possible out comes put it this way they will mostly be rainbow colours but if you want to breed real rainbows then you need to get two clear wings a cock and a hen and cut out cinnamon however i breed the exact same bird you have in violet and in cobalt and sky all cinnamon and some norms and they were lovley but you need rec pied harliquin sorry yf cobalt to get best rezults i will hunt my pics down and post some my out comes and their pairings for you and no albino does not inhance feather quality just they seem to make the chicks more pastle when breed with dom pied cins and the bonis is you get albino chicks too
