3 Pairs In Colony Breeding
I dissagree with this as Greg's dad has several of my birds and he has bred some rippers in colony breeding. They are big birds like mine some even bigger, if he had my rings on them I could show them and have a good chance of winning that's how good they are. He has bred a light green cock that I would die for. but he won't part with him. His aviary is only about 3 feet wide and 6 foot long if that. He only has a few birds in there. But he is breeding great. whats a few birds splat 4 or more cause 4 birds two pairs is not really colony breeding except the fact theirs no control over who mates with whom im talking small aviary with 6 or more pairs their is just no personal space for the birds and i guess i shouldnt of generalized so broadly ill say most conony breeders are just breeding for a quick buck and dont cheak chicks or clean their beaks feet extra and its just a lazy way out of caring for birds properly

Clear Egg's
well im not a top breeder but im telling you thats a crock as i have always gotten firtile eggs second round by encouraging to feed a clutch of two at most you dont swap eggs you make sure you have a hen with say 5 firtile eggs due on same days or next day and you place the first hatched two chicks under infertile hen straight away as soon as they are found to be hatched best if they have been feed first and that the egg away as you place the chicks so one hatched put in nest take a egg two days on next chick place in chick take egg then let her feed for three days and then take all eggs out that are left the other hen will have her third chick by then and if by chance the hen isnt a good feeder than you simply place chick back with original mum one at time and the out come is productive as you know thatt the hens not good mum and you can just cull her but ive never needed to do that and if she does feed good she raises giving less load to other hen and then next round possibly laying new fertile eggs due to being stimulated into new cycle i have always done it that way always i dont see it as a waste i see it as a chance every mother deserves a chance dosent she

3 Pairs In Colony Breeding
personally i think colony breeding is just a lazy way to breed birds the chicks dont get cleaned feet or beaks and mum n dad have to do everything and deal with the fear of night intruders of their nest exectra chicks are less healthy as Peronts are to busy trying to keep watch of them so feed less regularly i breed my pets as i do my show birds i have done it this way always even as child once i did three in a cage and the rezult even though birds were happy to be sharing the area supplyed chicks were no were near as good big healthy or strong as when separately breed as they were feed less due to keeping nests safe paranoid, instinct call it what you will i think that results are always going to be not as good as caged separate pairs but thats me as i said before lazy mans way of breeding pet birds and nothing beneficial to the pairs i can think of just stress colony in wild is so different than in flight unless your aviary is massive it should not be done in my veiw

Dying Budgies!
why cant you just keep 6 in one and 7 in other their for not needing to mix it up or if the odd male out isnt interested in birds put him with the gals sould like best solution and a answer you told yourself if you think about it
-
Clear Egg's
i disagree sorry splat i leave each egg till 5 to 6 days after its been layed as sometimes a hen wont sit on clutch till all eggs layed other times they sit straight up sometimes mid lay so i say after 5 to 6 days of the eggs lay date if not showing anything then take away but if others are fertile leave in till one week off hatching incase you get a slow starter its not really a wast of time if they sit cause can use as foster if need be and leave them sit on all clear eggs and when eggs hatch date comes around take one egg and replace with another hens baby of one or two days old that way they raise something and then second clutch should be firtile as feeding stimulates the cocks into contition after the seven week care of chicks leaving him rearing to go if second clutch is infertile id toss them eggs and let birds fly a bit

Selling Unweaned Budgie Babies
these people do it to achive more cash for their birds i find it appalling myself i dont even believe in hand rearing babys though unless they are abandoned or sick /unwell/undernurishd the sad thing is people actually think their paying more for a bird they can tame up and that will be very very tame in end sad thing is most these birds die from malnutrition or cold their should be a law but i dont know if their is or not if only you could get it into peoples heads that a baby parrot is best reared fully by its Peronts then taken as soon as its confidently cracking seeds as it makes no diffrence to its tameness so long as the birds are handled in nest its so not hard to wait a few more weeks for a good bird whom will be healthy as well as easily tamed to be a friend for life and at a way lesser cost i mean my birds go for 15 ,20 dollors tamed for you only catch is i chose the bird on its personality as some birds just wont tame regardless of hand reared or bird reared its just their personality

Green Or Yf Blue/violet?
said she looks sick not that she is sick just be watchful of her and do preventitive treatment of a brodspectrum antibodic like oxey b wont hurt also id bring her out of aviry into a smaller warmer cage and the other birds shes with treat them with oxey b also to be sure after that if she doesnt look better id take for poo and swap of crop before putting into my flock the 50 buck would be worth not loseing anybirds down trace

Green Or Yf Blue/violet?
well sorry to be negitive but if shes 3 to 4 months old thats only two weeks older than 10 weeks and i dont care how cold it is if shes sitting fluffed like that and her eyes are almond shape not round thats first sighn of a unwell bird you dont get geneticly almond or any other shaped eyes round is how they come when bird is fully healthy she may seem healthy but maybe carrying something i do hope you quarantined her incase i personally dont think shes well so please be aware as for clolor unless goldenface which she does not look she would not be so green so.... you cant tell from underwing unless goldenface not just type2 just would be green from bad suffusion bird isnt yf anything in my opinion but im no expert

Splats Breeding Season To Date
thats really cool i love the iffy birds that dont breed their cheep nice quality and you can always get at lest one chick if not a clutch if your on the ball and patient good luck with it mate bet the violet boy woos her just have a nest ready to put all their eggs in and give her the other hens as they lay that way she may actually suprize you and if not its not a big loss and you know never ever trust her again with chicks thats what i would do

Missing My Pet Types
may i ask if you have fifteen budgies why would you need to get darrell a partner couldnt you find a suited hen breeding pets is about the genetics and colour i only had 4 pairs to start with i got eaight but the rest i breed from my own bred babys the possibilitys are so large with out needing to interbred your birds with just that small amount of birds even if you had 5 cocks and 10 hens or 10 cocks and five hens you can achive so much if i was you so its more fun id split darrell of to to diffrent hens that will achive to difrent color rezults say violet or skyblue and cobalt and mauve or grey then id pair the two clutches babys together this way you will get rec pieds and normals plus what ever other mutations the birds may have eg opaline or cinnamon its more fun as you can make colours you exactly want rather than buying two random pretty birds with no back ground why not mate your own and know the background im sure with fifteen birds you would have a suiter or two for him its fun trying to achive as many splits and visual mutations you can on the one bird well it was for me i had most birds with 3 vishual if not 5 visual mutations and 3 to five difrent splits eg golden face. opaline .spangle.dom pied ,cinnamon cock/albino /rec pied thirs so many things you can split birds too and have them hold visually it never gets borring
