  5. thats so good full recover
  6. no i think boo with cindy i believe this best pairing if they were my birds you would have more options to breed in future and mabe you will get a blue chick if not any chick you do get will have blue chicks as well as green when you put it with another blue or white bird think about future pairing of all pairs out comes it will help you decide what you think is best out come look beyond what you have to what you can achieve from these pairs as to what chicks of theirs you could pair and what they will give you but mostly just have fun with it any birds will be pretty but if boo has a single white feather on his head then place him with alise the one with the patch on her head if he does it will be hard to see but you will see it it will just be one white feather not a patch like alices
  7. mate i never had any veranda or patio as i have in the picture all my cages were in the back yard along the wooden fence their was no cover area at all theses pics are just what i have done two nights ago at my new place i was trying to show you the basic blind and cheep 2 dollor tarps from army disposles yes 2 dollors and i would suggest you breed 4 pair look at the set up not where i have it i started with 4 pairs and each clutch i keep two to three chicks and sell the rest 3 years ago i now have 12 breeding cages but not all are together some are in my aviary along the wall i use the money from the sold chicks to get more cages and upgrades on my aviary im in the middle of saving for some more blinds and some clear plastic instead of the blue tarps for really wet cold blowy days and some sun tough as im making sliding doors on my aviary as to close the wind out please dont give up im three years breeding now and still have miles to go before i can have a decant more practical set up when i was staying at my mums my birds were on her varanda again just with the tarps it works good i have mind tied permanantly but you can simply use pegs here is a closer look for you... remember ! look at it as if it was in the back yard along a fence forget about the porch as i only just reasently have been blessed with having this but nothing else has changed you can see i have a towel doubled over to keep the wind out on the side near blind which is just good enough to stop the heavy rain i still need to line it with plastic (the blind that is ) you can see that i have joined the tarps together i did this with wire and then i joined it to a metal curtain rod then i attached it all to the wire cages at the back i just roll it up and down as i think necessary you can even place a big woolen blanket first then the tarp for added warmth if you think they need it all my cages are wired on to the trolleys and the top cage wired to the bottom if i need to move one for any reason i just cut the wire with wire cutters and do so but i always rewire them back their is so many places you can breed birds even in the house u do not need a covered area just a good imagination as long as they dont get wet they are all good please dont give in as kaz said some pics of your yard house im sure theirs somewhere you have over looked
  8. i belive you should put cindy and boo together they the pairing id go with for the pied spangle out come you will get nice doms from this cocks being split cin and you will get yellow face , white faced and opaline spangles and norm opalines and dom opaline spangles yf dom opaline norm or spangle yf opalines their is more but best veriaty in my opinion dom yf opaline spangles cocks being split ... hens being norm wing colouring unless dad split cinn a bigger bonus or boo with the blue split pied as i would say he is split does he have just one fully white feather on his head at back ? if he is you will get a pied or two from that pairing
  9. mattdog their is no reason you can not breed with the wire cage breeding cages u dont need a room to breed with cabbnits my cages are out in open i have always done it this was i resently built bird room but decided to just go back to my oridganal sett up as it worked better here i have them under cover but thats only as i moved before i had same set up but against the side fence of the yard i covered birds the exact same with a tarp weaighted down and i had each cage in a this plastic bag that i cut a flap into so that i could peg it back at night and open during day if it was extreamly bad weather i just covered them for the whole day i had every good rate of chicks and never lost birds to cold or anything i had the tops covered permanantly and just roll the tarp up so easy where theirs a will their is a way
  10. if it is a broken leg the vet will need to amputate the leg as it sounds like it has died i had to amputate one my birds legs as it died after being splinted afew days latter the vets was not open and i took it apon myself to save him as as blood poisoning had accrued I KNEW WHAT I WAS DOING i did not just chop some birds leg off i had proper surgical equipment and everything prepared before i proceeded also the bird was taken to vet for proper treatment where he did commend me for saving my little mans life it cost me 80 dollors to have his whole bone removed and he had stitches for 10 days he is alive and happy flying in aviry as if nothing happened so do not let you vet tell you that nothing can be done as it can and at not much price for your birds life and DONT WASTE TIME GETTING HIM HER TO VET BLOOD POISINING THROUGH A DEAD LIMB CAN BE FATEL AND THE PAIN AND SUFFERING VERY STRESFUL BUT do not give your bird human pain killers as this will cause its death
  11. Thats good news. I think some of those photos had better go into the budgie of the month competition though mate nar kinda over that i know my babys are cute i dont need a little sticker on my sig besides their so many cuties out their i dont like to just pick one they all desirve to win and corka dont worry i sleep wit one eye open always have besides if you know yourself as i know myself thats not a posability besides if im asleep first not much you can do as i said this bird does not have a cage nor does the other bird i have in house the room is safe infact the house is so ... but i agree it is not a practice people should do so ... for all out their who think that they may just try sleep with their budgie WARNING SLEEPING WITH YOUR BUDGIE COULD REZULT IN ITS DEATH this is not a usual practice nor something i would incorage

  19. 40 bucks man id love to know your vets i asked around and the cheepest price i was quoted was $190 im just glad i havent needed one yet if you think it could have been egg bound then you could be able to feel the egg in her bumb i think that with the regergatated mouth fluide posably she had gotten a fright and banged into something hard and given herself internal damage this can cause discharge fluide from mouth and swelling but with out seeing bird it could of been anything an atopsy is your best bet and for 40 buck well worth the money keep close eye on other birds and just as procortion id clean feed dish water and cage very thorow

  25. okay so in my nest i had the most adorable big df spangle masking domanant pie violet cock bird well thats what i thought he was untill ..... i brought him inside due to me wanting to make certain he was eatting well enough as it seemed even thogh first out he was not feeding him self and to my suprize when i lay in frount of my heater (as i do ) he decided to just flop beside me i mean flop at first i thought oh no hes droped dead what was wrong with him but when i picked him up and turned him over to look he chirped at me the most sweetest little chirp ive ever heard so i placed him down to see him walk and he walked up to me and proceded to lay down yet again this time looking up at me with a reasharance he was okay he then streched his wing out and simply layed their next to me by the fire (as all budgies do   )so i left him be thinking he will fly off soon and i will b climbing chairs to get him down ect ect but no when he awoke some hour and half latter he got up chirped at me yorned and proceded to go to the food i had left and then sip his water with my help leaning the little dish to show him what it was he then walked up to me and looked up i gave him a scrach under his chin and he moved his head all directions thorowly injoying this then he once again lay down face first plonk in frount of heater i had to laugh and get a short vid and some pics its been thiree days now and the little fella has the exact routine all day long he doesnt sleep in a cage he sleeps on a little pink pillow or sometimes i find him on mine he is healthy as and can fly well as i found out when i was here on the sight yesterday and had left him peacefully sleeping , to my suprize half hour latter i hear a thud on the floor and look down to see showpanne had flown in and found me at first i thought it was a coincidance but he has since done this 4 or more times he is as we speak laying on his pillow by the heater i will post pics tomorrow of my little angel so you can see for your self im still in disbeleife and this is our third day in house together its not just the fact of what he does its how he does it one leg out wing streched face down he almost looks to be flattened funny thing is exept for fact i dont have wings he lays in the exact position i lay in myself infrount of the heater
