Hen Attacks Baby
Macka the white is 5 weeks old next Thursday and the sky is is 2 days younger so he is 4 weeks today, The white one came out of the nest yesterday for the first time and there is a hidy box on the floor but that didn't save him. They are not feeding themselves probably yet and the hen is on her own. Before dark I checked on him and he was sitting up on the perch so I hope that is a good sign. Hoping he doesn't die from shock. i would bring them both inside with their breeding box and mix up some rearring mix and stick in millet and red pannican seed for them as its softer for the youngs to crack but you would know that and i would watch them for the night and take mum away from them they eat fine when they relise no one will feed them or put other young birds in with them that may feed them although im sure you know whats best thats what i would do

Advice Please
and if kaz is not correct which she usually is then it could be stress boredom or over heated house any of these things will trigger a bird to pull out own feathers sometimes lack of protein they will pull out magor flights to chew up the quill end to try get more protein but if he came totally tail and flight less kaz most prob spot on

Billy And Grace
sorry to hear this this is to every one who wants to breed budgies in small quantitys not directed at you darl just in general learning how to hand rear babys from very young is a must if your not going to have other pairs on hand to be able to foster in fact, even if you do have fosters its a very important part of breeding as anything can go wrong at any time requiring you to be the sole Peront this is a very time consuming job so be warrned im thinking something else was up with cricket as he was way old enough to feed on own and i remember you saying he was at one point

Help Me
place it in a card board box with the mum as was sugested and she will keep it warm she may of abandoned it as she was stressed looking for others when quail hatch you must move them immediately from birds way eg place a few bricks high wall around them and a sheet of mess wire to stop birds getting to them and mum and dad getting out hope it lived

Two More Babies
I reckon they'll be staying Not sure if they'll turn out as well as I hope, but with that Grey Green cock as the father if they even looked ordinary I'd still be keeping them. would you be breeding them back to dad in time ? or do you not breed like that ? i know if i get a really good hen i would put it back to dad not sure about the reasonable ones though although you would think this would better them again i believe doing this brings out the good or the bad and the ugly whats the story with this ?? can you help with that

This hen is a beauty! If she ever needs a holiday in sunny QLD I can assure you she will be well looked after thanks daryl i love he too she is one my fave hens i have brought most my hens her included from the one breeder sue and allan hill they from my club i think she is here as mystic bird not sure >>> sue is a member on here mabe you should look her up they breed hens with lovely heads i got a beautiful grey normal from them also both were brought and chosen for my lacewing and albino lines i plan on breeding her with my cinnamon grey green split lacewing split blue cock nubbly 5 breed but she is very hormonal at moment and he is very ***** and its not a good mix in the breeding cabbnet lol so i am waiting for next year to pair these two at moment i have placed her with this cock bird bellow i can only hope he isnt to old hes a blue ring and im not sure how old that is but he looks well enough for the gob so..crossing fingers i will be happy if she just lays for first time her is the split lace wing split blue bad picture but beautiful bird then when shes cappable i will put her up with the cinnamon grey boy pictured bellow her as he also is poss split lacewing i will try get pics of all my hens in next day or two just i dont want to move them off their nests woops sorry bout the underline first time i used it lol

My Show Stock The Flock
okay i will keep them up i cant get pics of the beautiful boy you sent me kaz yet next week mabe when i visit him he has at monent five eggs and they are with renees cinnamon grey hen so but as i had no room here and kazzy needed some cinnamon hens we decided to breed them their split the two clutches we are aiming for, and then she is keeping the cinn hen as she has none also the rec pied cock renee i got is also at kazzys he is paired to the light green split rec pied hen he is on loan and she is again having the hen and all the chicks are for her she has been looking at getting into rec pieds for since we started and couldnt find any nice hens or a good cock so ,im helpping her out while i consentrate on my albino and lacewings she has him for a year then i get him back the split cock she also has as their is no point trying to build a nice line on one well breed bird they were brother sister also so she could not breed them she has a lovley hen from the pet shop but from a good breeder and is going to put him to that shes on her way i will no doubt get rec chick later from her stud i have the yf boy the grey boy and the violet hen which if i ever get anything from passed 4 chicks i will send one your way as you have been a life saver in that aspect but wont be breeding her for about 1 and half years if at all but this is here life long home now the albino has great feather but m not happy with useing her in my show stock but will be great in my pet line but i may sell her i did love the cinn hen but kazzy had no hens with substance working for her and i had a few good cinn hens she comes back if ever she does not want her but im using her for both our benifits so it works out fine kaz question for you is the opaline boy yf a type 2 ??? could he be ayf as he seems quiet suffused ?? is their any background on him thanks

A New Test.
I figured I would be banned from making early posts. I believe in people learning from figuring it out for themselves. I can point out an error if you wish me too but at this stage I will not. It can be a learning exercise also. I am away till Monday (escort job again....oh my that sounds suss don't it ). Gina I'll be in mobile range till I get to Wubin after that who knows. Cheers all and have fun. OMG and you don't sleep either Enjoy escorting all those big boys You can tell me where I've buggered up again then! (Although I think you are just a bit mean to not tell me now). okay anyone else going to give this a go? Good effort there Renee! Oooh ooh I reckon I know where I've cocked it up - Sorry Renee I've changed it a bit...... but you are on the right track there apart from one bit. Parents visually are: Normal cobalt cock Lutino hen Babies are: Lutino hen Albino cock Opaline olive cock Normal Skyblue hen So all I've changed just one outcome from Cinnamon Olive Cock to Opaline Olive Cock anyone hazzard to guess why? so dad is split for ino and opaline but then how was it that all the hens are not opaline as to get an opaline cock you need mum to be masking opaline mum is also split blue
