A Hen In Breeding Condition?
Here is some pics of the new couple, Betty is in her box again sorting things out and Jack is just sort of watching all this like he is not sure of quite what is going on, i hope he gets the idea cause i have high hopes for this bird

A Hen In Breeding Condition?
I was told she was when i got her, she is in with Jack now and though there is a bit of squarking going on she seems more interested in him than any of the others, there is some beak clicking and sweet talk when she stays still long enough but no grooming or kissing, i think one of the perches is to small and unstable though so i might change that Would you believe it as i am typing this i look over and he is feeding her

A Hen In Breeding Condition?
hey guys was just wondering if a hen that is NOT in breeding condition would be interested in the nest box, i have a hen in a breeding cage at the moment and she is in and out of the box all day but seems to be playing hard to get with the male, what do you think?

Update On My Family
Hey Liv thanks for that I already give them a multi vitamin supplement in their water every couple of days because they refuse to eat their veggies so you think that will do instead of the moult ease?

My Small Home-made Indoor Aviary
Thanks for this post Chrissy, i have anold cabinet that i was thinking of turning in to breeding cages and wasn't sure if it would work but since you have done it then i thik i will give it a try, ohh and i agree with Kaz that you should make the divided sections long instead of tall and put the perches front to back insead of side to side, gives them alot more flight room Godd luck with your new avairy and let us know how it turns out Ps you can get the proper cage wire on ebay i think or your local hardware store, it would be safer rather than running the risk of them chewing through the mesh

What To Give My Birds?
Hi guys i would just like some suggestions on addatives to give to my birds, i am trying to get them ready for breeding and give them the usual seed, fresh veggies, grated carrot, boccoli, lettue and sweetcorn, i gave them all a calcium/mineral bell and millet but the only thing they will touch is the seed, some will try the millet and sweetcorn. I have been adding vitamin suplements to their water every couple of days but is there anything else you can sugest for these fussy budgies

Update On My Family
Hi everyone just thought i would give you an update on my family, Tom, Jerry, Zac and Eddie have all been moved in to a new home and are living it up with abit more space to fly around and new perche, i have the best park up the road full of gum trees and natural perches everywhere for free. Fred has moved in with Jack to keep him company (Jack is my pride and joy so has been inside for the winter), although they haven't become the best of mates they tolerate each other and Jack seems to have abit more life in him now. Penny, Amilea, Jordan and Roxy are still in quarantine for the next 12 days and seem healthy and content, i can't wait to introduce them to the boys. And last but not least Betty Blue and Pluto are in the breeding cage getting to know each other, i don't think it is going to well, will give it few more days and see what happens. Everyone seems to have decided that it is malting time so i have feathers everywhere, (can anyone suggest a website that sells malt ease cause i cant find it in any of the shops near me). I am still having no success with getting any of them to eat their veggies, some of them will nibble on the sweetcorn but thats it , i even springle the millet over them but most of them wont even eat that. I swear i have the most weird budgie ever, not only wont they touch all the goodies i offer them but not one of them touches the toys i have for them or the calcium and mineral bells i gave them. I have posted questions in the right places and will keep you updated how things are going when it comes time to pairing them up Hope everyone is well Have a great day Charlie

Have You Had This Happen?
Hey Missylu i wouldn't worry to much, i had a pair in breeding last year and he plucked the back of her head bare but after she went back in the aviary they grew back with no problems. I have no idea why he did this and i never even saw him do it but she was fine.

Some Of The New Guys N Gals
:fear Heres hoping he gets the idea soon Its funny how some birds get straight in to things and others just don't have a clue. I have Betty Blue and Fred in a breeding cage now, she has been in and out of the box all day but is barely looking at poor Fred who knows exactly what he is supposed to do
