  1. 7 eggs including a few fosters (one belongs to the albino hen who layed in the aviary) plus one chick!!! Crested cock X crestbred hen -no eggs yet but today the hen is showin a lot of interest in the box. Grey normal cock X green normal hen -not much action here yet Grey opaline cock X grey green opaline hen-nothing here either pet type fallow cock X pet type skyblue dilute hen-taken these out, I changed my mind violet cinn opaline hen X green DF spangle cock (Ozzie)-she's in the nest but I doubt anything fertile will result but we'll see skyblue yellow face cock X light green greywing opaline hen- first egg today Fingers crossed
  2. She means the only WAY you will et blues is i she is split not that you wil only et blues rey is a dominant colour so about half the babies will be grey greens or greys if she is split to blue the rest will be greens (or blues if split) You could expect about hal pieds
  3. Sorry when I originally replied to this post they were all links, I didn't look up aain until just now
  4. I couldn't tell rom the photo if 7 was greywing kinda looks cinnamon in my view. It's really hard to have to go into them all seperately and make decisions like that could you change the sizes and repost the pics?
  5. She has a nice booy head or a hen really need a photo tht shows her full body rom the sides
  6. I have a silly albino hen in the aviary who layed an egg and was sitting on it in the corner yesterday, I took it away from her and she was back there again today lookin decidedly comfy and when I moved her along she has a definate eggy bum so another on the way I would say. I had noticed that she and my blue spangle boy had been quite bonded the last few weeks and she certainly flew straight back to him when I moved her on today so I decided to make them up a cage(despite not really havin the space). They are now happily settled in their new cage and the hen is already checking out the new box so she might even lay the next one in there if I'm lucky. I marked the first one and put it under the other pet type pair which has eggs(and one chick-YAY!) at the moment so if she starts sitting happily I'll give it back to her in a few days.
  7. Is there a pet shop there at all? I would take any calcium supplement at all in preference to none, Calcivet is great but whatever brand the pet shop has would be okay in the mean time.
  8. She said for next years breeding Dave I would put 6 with 2 since they are both greywings
  9. If she was delayed in laying the first because it was soft she may lay the next one very soon
  10. She needs a supplement like calcivet
  11. Definately more calcium needed, if its soft it's possible she was having trouble laying it and it caught her by surprise when she inally layed it.
  12. Im not sure I can really offer any useful help but our lorikeet did this when she was young and never stopped until we got her a friend to distract her. I'm not saying you have to get her a friend but we came to the conclusion that it was boredom, how large is her cage and how often does she get time out o the cage?
  13. It depends what colour babies you want, what colours do you like?
  14. The one I could never work out was how mine managed to flick their dropping horizontally out the sides of their cage onto my fridge
  15. Out of the eight beginners that recieved birds last night Jess, four are members of this forum so you practically know us already anyway
  16. I have found putting the food bowl in the middle of a bread plate can help
  17. Pepi was gifted to me by another member when they moed overseas, he is such a funny little guy and VERY social. He now spends most of his time in the aviary since discovering the joy of being a flock bird after so many years as a lone pet. When he does come inside he spends most of his time riding on someones head or sitting on top of the kitchen cupboards or the curtain rails
  18. Pepicek my little green man is just hysterical, I was talking to him last night and he was making a fool of himself
  19. I know Pipi is very good with his ring codes and which birds are which within our club. He looked at the birds when we were viewing them before the draw and was telling us which birds were whos and how they were related so I might ask him if he knows anything about any of them first of all and then o some more seaearch when the club meets again after chrissy
  20. I was recommended to put her with that grey green cinny normal that looks like my old one
  21. S1 was my first pick the light green opaline hen
  22. I know Phil (Pipi) got some Skivington birds, I'm not sure what the ring numbers mean as far as members. I have breeder codes: NO7, S1 and SV1. They were being very hush hush about which birds belonged to who and of course we couldnt take them out of the cages to check so we just had to pick what we liked the look of
  23. The only difference is that the new one is acinnamon and the old one wasnt but other than that they could have been brothers
  24. This guy: reminds me a lot of my favorite one that died during my first round of breeding
  25. The idea splat is that its to help out the beginners who might not be able to afford to get good starter birds. The long term members of the club donated some of their better culls to the cause and then the names of all the beginners wre put in a hat and drawn outone at a time, when your name was drawn you got to pick a bird, once the first round finished a second round started and so on.
