  1. Wow as well as my wedding prep our new little lady will be ready to come home in about three weeks. Then there will be chaos!
  2. Yes did you get a name? My suggestion is Hope :hap: If we go to the bird sale and you see anything you want they can always stay at my house until you are sorted out :hap: Um derrrr...just realised you have called her Sky
  3. My fiance has wanted a grey since he was a little boy, I just sent him the clip and he loved it. He's dead set that once we have bought our house and built our free flight room he's saving up for one
  4. If you do a google search there are a number of companies that do mail order genetic testing. All you do is pluck a medium sized feather from the bird put it in an envelope and post it away, it costs about $25. But in all honesty budgies are very easy to sex visually and it would really be a waste of money. It is clearly a hen and as she gets older it will become even more obvious.
  5. http://s223.photobucket.com/albums/dd243/m...ainerlorito.flv Try again
  6. worked for me ;)that was amazing!!
  7. I know it is compulsory in Vic and NSW now not sure about other states.
  8. Congrats! The double yolkers definately have it stacked against them, I *think* Kaz had twins survive though so it does happen.
  9. I would just run your finger over their crop a couple of times a day to make sure they are filling it, that will let you know if they need extra feeds beforethey start to obviously loose weight. I find that if I put a few celery leaves in the seed bowl my babies will almost always chew on those even if they won't eat anything else.
  10. Fingers crossed for a successful clutch then :hap:
  11. Sounds like she is happier in that box regardless of how long the egg took to form ( I think it is more like ten days), hopefully she doesn't throw the eggs out this time.
  12. That egg would have been in the works before yesterday though wouldn't it?
  13. If it makes you feel any better Chryso I think every uni student goes through what you are going through right now, regardless of their course, I know I certainly do. I'm someone for whom uni does not come easily, it's not that I can't do the stuff it's just that the teaching mode isn't ideal for me. So I often end with the 'what am I doing here' feeling, especially around exam time. Good luck for your exam
  14. They are different around the ears too. Until you have owned two of a breed that all pretty much look the same you don't really pick up those subtle differences. Everyone would look at us like we were crazy when we said "Can't you see the difference, that's Belle and that's Nougat there, see how Belle has a rounder face" We tended to get blank looks at that point :hap:
  15. Chadstone is a fair hike from here (plus I would get lost going from my car into the shop), but Northland is only ten minutes down the road so that's doable. If you are bored one day happy to do a mini makeover and take some snaps. I barely know how to put lipstick on though so I'll probably ask lots of dumb questions :hap:
  16. No the cupcakes are for them to take home as their 'piece of cake' We get dessert at the venue so they won't need to eat it there. The 'sauce' sets nearly hard so they won't spill or anything when they take them home. Doesn't have to be her special recipe, I'm just trying to find a recipe that someone has actually used before and knows is nice. I think I have baked about 80 muffins so far trying to find a good recipe but noothing as been that fantastic. Oh and I promise not to tell anyone Wedding is 4pm on a Sunday. What's an 'Inglot' is that like the equivelent of the Myer make up counter? I really have no idea, my make up collection extends to a mascara and lip balm :hap: My main problem is I do tend to wash out very easily in photos, I always look white as a sheet even if I'm not so I need enough colour put on to make me look normal in my photos...
  17. These are muffins on a stand. Three tiers. The muffins will have peoples place card attached to them and a little note on the back that explains that if they put it in the microwave for 20 seconds it turns into a self saucing pudding Each muffin is in a little ceramic muffin cup so they will be already on the tables. They will have a a chocolate top with a little white chocolate heart piped onto it. The ones on the stand will just be for show essentially so we will probably eat them ourselves Hey Neat any chance your mum would pass on a recipe or two? I haven't been able to find a really nice one. I want one for choc mud and if possible one for white choc mud, the nice rich type :budgiedance:
  18. Check list still to go: Finish dress Organise hair and make up ( I don't do either of these things normally so I'm totally stumped!) Finish wedding cake design and make decision on mud cake recipe (any suggestions as I haven't found a recipe I'm totally happy with yet?) Decide on table centrepieces make place cards (can't be dnoe until everyone has RSVPed) kick fiances a*se until he gets his suits ordered (still not done and best man is BIG boy so they won't be 'off the rack') Check maid of honours dress and adjust two weeks before wedding if necessary (she's pregnant) Sigh...
  19. You want to swap, it's not fun it's hard work :budgiedance:
  20. Chocolate and white chocolate mud self saucing muffins :budgiedance:
  21. Not really CR, I'm just giong to cut rings as that has been the most reliable method so far of making sure they didn't stick I did half the adjustment on my wedding dress last night, the easy half. The rest will have to wait until after my exam next week. I have ordered the stand that I am using for my cake to buy (it was $30 to hire or $40 to buy it). So I will be able to put it together and make sure I am ahappy wth it in advance :budgiedance:
  22. I use bread clips on the doors the kids still haven't worked out how to get them off
  23. I love the fact that you use a red and blue collar. We had russian blue sisters and as kittens they also wore a red collar and a blue collar Once they grew up we could tell them apart but no one else could still
  24. Some of my breeding hens et very sticky out ceres when they are in condition
