  1. I think can see what you are saying and it makes sense to me. All those bits and pieces mixed up together makes it hard to predict the outcome and means a lot of hard work and good money may result in chicks which look completely unlike what you wre expecting. Is that about right?
  2. It's a heavy, rich choccy cake I'll be cooking it in chocolate and also white chocolate for my wedding cake
  3. But throwback this is a bird the breeder WASN'T keeping, which in itself probably means he wan't happy with him and didn't want to breed from him. I would be more worried if he was keeping birds with bad suffusion...
  4. Can I ask why you shouldn't use an opaline when there is suffusion?
  5. Hey just found something kinda cool, looked up taxiride and found out they have a myspace page and a few of their songs available for free download. http://www.myspace.com/taxiride
  6. Oh yay, Pie has a pie in the oven! Oh wait I mean I bun
  7. okay, I'll do a hunt tomorrow during my lunch break If all else fails we have a cake decorating shop near me and I'm sure she will know where to get it.
  8. Is that a lingo thing between Vic and there or do you have greaseproof paper as well? We only seem to have greaseproof paper here.
  9. That's not too bad I guess, I always have heaps of jumbo size zip lock bags for work so no problem there. Now can you tell me is waxed paper the same thing as grease proof paper (baking paper) as I've never heard of waxed paper. If I can remember correctly I think we wrapped the chrissy cake in a couple of layers of tinfoil.
  10. I totally agree with you Kaz don't get me wrong I'm just rethinking my plans since it sounds like it's going to be a huge hassle.
  11. That will probably be more time consuming than just making them when I need them though. I need 140 so that's ALOT of wrapping and unwrapping.
  12. Oooohhh... the intrigue! Come on Pie hurry up!
  13. Well I was only planning on freezing them for a couple of weeks and I have 8 weeks before I need them so maybe I'll put a trial batch in the freezer now, take them out on three weeks and see how they are and then decide whether I need to wrap individually or whether I can get away with packing them tightly on a tray.
  14. Should clarify, it's muffins so I guess if I put them on flat trays and then wrapped the whole tray?
  15. Anyone have a recommendation for the best way to freeze cake(heavy mud cake) and also how long it is okay to freeze it for. I know one year we froze a mud cake after christmas and it actually tasted moister and richer after it had been dfrosted so I assume it is okay but I can't remember how we froze it or how long for. NickNack do YOU know
  16. We are using a not well known taxiride song for our wedding. It's called Voodoo Doll Sin and its about a girl/woman who's had it tough and dreams of something more and the guy in the song making all her dreams come true. The lyrics: She looks like she's been 'round the world In a couple of days A dead flower in her hair And dirt on her face And she says "One of these days I'll do something right" As the light bounces around in her eyes Chorus And I may be a voodoo doll sin Excuse for a man, but I know All of my life I'll give you endless symphonies All through the night I will make all your lies come true Flying high above my head There's a balloon It's jagged path caught by the wind A little too soon And she says "I'll be the string that gets Caught in the trees" And she smiles all the while Time seems to freeze Chorus In between second thoughts You've landed me in pain again And I just can't walk away From these troubled times And leave you here Guitar Solo All of my life I'll give you endless symphonies All through the night I will be waiting...(I will be waiting) All through the night I'll give you everything All your life
  17. I like some of taxirides songs, we are using one of theirs as our wedding dance song :budgiedance:
  18. Further updates after this past weekend :budgiedance: I bought myself a necklace, organised a dance instructor, found my youngest a pair of black formal shoes and today just by luck I found the perfect bracelet. It's all starting to come together
  19. I have recessive pieds with dark eyes Photos of parents please
  20. Might be time to consider taking him out if he isn't feeding her anymore anyway as it sounds like he is also interfering with her ability to feed herself even. Put some millet sprays and celery tops in the nest box for her so she can eat in the box if she needs to and that will also encourage your babies to start picking incase you need to take them out early.
  21. Hey AV I'm a member of my Melbourne freecycle and my local one so let me know if you want more info. Do a search on yahoo groups for it and it will come up
  22. Neat I know she has special wide perches installed because of her unsteadiness on her legs and that the bird has been to a good vet. AV I just recalled that a while ago I pulled a bird out of my aviary that had watery poops and he had lost alot of feathers from around his vent so maybe it is the irritation from the 'runs'. I know that my bubba gets a bad nappy rash if he has a belly bother so I guess the poops may be quite acidic, if the poops are 'burning' her bum a bit maybe the irritation is causing the feathers to drop out or for her to over preen the area.
  23. Ivan could very well end up with some from this breeder G, the breeder is from Box Hill budgie club and I got the birds in Nunawading so if he had lots to cull he could very well spread them around the area.
  24. The two girls that have it are 4 years old and two years old and have had it the whole time I have had them. I'll try and check for pigment later. They are both from the same breeder but bought from a pet shop so I might even try and track the breeder down and see if I can get any more 'faulty' birds of him
  25. She's not feeding her grit Neat, the person she rescued her off did None of mine loose their feathers when in breeding condition. She looks red there, is it inflamed?
