  1. Sorry Kaz, just read this, how sad for you, what a bad run! Sad to hear about the little cremino, but I got albino cock a few days ago so when he gets a bit older I'll just have to breed myself one I guess!
  2. I had a tawny a few years ago called Furby While he was a baby he lived on a branch in the corner of my bedroom, he would hang out there and make his little mopoke sounds all night, I didn't mind though cause he was gorgeous
  3. Yeah I wondered too, because despite my best efforts I hadn't been able to wash it out, but she is definately starting to get some white feathers poking through now. Under the grime she is a violet dominant pied fallow, she will be gorgeous when she is moulted and I can't wait to breed with her, she will most likely be a future mate of Ozzie when she is older
  4. Posted about that little girl a while ago. She is a rescue bird of sorts, given to me by her breeder who got her mended but didn't want to keep her because she was worried about her getting attacked again. She got attacked by a hen while she was a bub in the nest and sufferred some fairly severe injuries. She was treated with antibiotic cream that made her feathers sticky and she turned brown She is well and truly on the mend now though, she has started to moult out the brown feathers and is getting some nice snowy white feathers in their place Once she has moulted fully I plan to take another photo and post a before and after so stay tuned for that
  5. I considered that but was worried about the strength, sounds like I'll give it a go then Thanks
  6. The SNRs were in SA, at Scotia Earth Sanctuary back when it was still under the care of the cat man I believe they have released them in a few 'safe' areas now on some peninsulas but there aren't many around. If you trap anything again take some pics, I have just finsihed a degree with a major in Botany and one in Aquatic Biology but I had a major general Zoology component and I have a few friends that could just about tell you what any nativ animal you ever came across was so I can always pass it on to someone that will give you an answer. The dingoes are a tough one aren't they, there are so many hybrid mongrels out there it makes it hard to do the right thing by the people or the animals. A real sorry mess if you ask me...
  7. Don't worry AV, a few more weeks and I'll start preparing a breeding cage for him I have a girl picked out already
  8. Derek what do you use to hang the nest boxes? I use a similiar sytem on some of my wire cages but I'm struggling to work out a good, easy way to hang them.
  9. Yes he is a blue normal, I thought he was blue... was thinking maybe I was crazy
  10. Hey Elly if you scan a line or to down on my album : http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x259/erinleighalexmax/ You will see a sweet little girl called Katie, she isn't a rescue, she's a pet but she's good practice
  11. Treat him like a toddler with wings. They chuck tantrums, lash out when they are cranky and they are your best friend when they are in a good mood My girl goes on time out with the cover over her cage for 5 min when she is naughty. I find something I know she hates (the tea towel) when she is out and have it on hand, if she misbehaves I show it to her and she immediately starts behaving again
  12. http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x259/erinleighalexmax/ Don't know if anyone else is have issues but photobucket doesn't seem to like me tonight, it won't let me resize anything, so as a short term consolation prize for those that are desperate to see Ozzie and my two new ino baby cocks I have attached my album link. Nothing sacred in there so feel free to sticky beak, I won't be upset ...It's mostly birds anyway Should add, the inos are only about 10 weeks old and I know it can be tough to get hold of good sized inos, especially cocks so I'm pretty happy with these guys, hopefully they boof up a bit more as they finish growing. They are already much bigger than my pet type adults.
  13. Cloud is a skyblue spangle, Fiji is a YF2 cobalt spangle, DQ is a grey dominant pied(from recollection cinnamon too), Boof and Pretty are both normal sky blues, Harley looks like a grey normal from this angle ??, Stormy looks like a mauve normal.
  14. You could pre-drill them so there is less internal pressure on the dowel that way
  15. Hmmm... I think some Ozzie snaps are in order, might get on that now...stay tuned
  16. Eyal how long did they treat him before changing yis antibiotics? I just checked back and you only got back from holidays just under a month ago, maybe the problem is just that the vet is no following through with the full course of treatment...
  17. If you don't want more birsd you should shouldn't read any of my posts from now on then cause I do tend to breed spangles, and don't forget Ozzie is a df spangle so he will be having little spangle babies soon too
  18. Dave, for the perches if you put a washer over the screw and then screw it on while the perch is in place the washer should hold it tight and stop it from spinning
  19. I'm guessing you've never had a bikini wax Derek
  20. They look good Dave, Oh and I recommended that site I wish I lived up there so that postage wasn't an issue
  21. Also AV, other thanBoof you prbably won't have to worry about doing it at all as all yours are pet types
  22. Not my fault you have no willpower
  23. I think it's foreplay!!!
  24. My mentor isn't keen on divetelact, apparently it is more hassle thansome of the other brands that are more specific for the animals, divetelact is used for everything from kittens to kangaroos and it can be fiddly to get the right mix. She used Biolac which she feels is easier
  25. I found your cage It's pretty!
