Neat to answer your quetion about wing markings he has none at all. The green on his chest/vent/rump is the only marking at allSo does that mean that after all my trying to breed a df spangle with no luck I've probably ended up with one anyway!!! Yippeeeee. Now what to breed him with? My choices are a big grey normal, a big green opaline, a medium blue dom pied or a medium blue fallow. Thoughts....?

Do the DF doms have the white cheek patch?? I have a nice opaline green girl lined up for him when he's done his quarantine.

AV kindly got me a beautiful new bird today but i am blowed if I can work out what he is. He is bright yellow(like a lutino) all over with no wing or neck markings. His only markings are pale dutch pied type markings on his chest, vent and rump. His eyes are black I think but it's a little hard to see them under the eyebrows, they might be plum He has eye rings. At this stage I am saying dom pied but I find it a little strange that he has no other markings on him at all! I don't believe he is a fallow as he has a nice bright blue cere. I will post a nice series of photos tomorrow when I have my camera but there is one shot of his front in AV's topic. oh wow Well he's the kind of guy who doesn't take photos when you want him to, he takes them when he thinks somethings funny, things like sick me lying on couch in a dressing gown with a red nose, etc. So we end up with no nice photos and lots of revolting ones that get thrown away. :grrrr:

I have some like that where the body colour replaces the proper black spangles, does that sound about right? Like this goldenface spangle guy:

That's well beyond my real of understanding BUT I would say that because blue is a normal (underneath the recessive pied) and lutino is essentially a green bird you would get... green normals Unless you know the parentage of your green birds it is hard to know whether you will get any blues as it depends whether your greens are split.

Assuming there are no splits/hidden genes, etc they will all be normal green babies split for either lutino or blue (depending on which pair). If in the pair with the blue the green is split for blue then you may get some blue babies.

There are pretty strict standards for things like that, as far as toxins I doubt there would be any problems but as a general rule I wouldn't hang the cage up high if you had a gas heater running.
