Pepicek
I thought you might all like to se a piccy of our new little friend Pepi. He is very chatty, flies around the house and lands on everyones shoulders and heads, has a penchant for pasta if he can get his beak in it before you stop him and likes to hang from my fringe and look deep into my eyes He is well and truly part of the family now. Pepi belonged to 'Ortega' who has headed off to live overseas. Pepi has been an only budgie for four years and was quite scared of the other birds when he arrived but tonight for the first time he introduced himself to one of the other inside budgies during fly time

Feather Cyst
Biggest hugs. He was a very loved little budgie so I know you did everything you could have. If your son decides in a few months that he is ready to share his heart with another budgie please give me a yell. I would be absolutely honored for one of my babies to share it's life with such a caring young man.

Biology Assignment
Due to their small size and limited dispersal abilities mites which live on tree sap can be seperated by only a few metres but still be very different. In a rainforest there may be a different species of mite occupying each tree! Source: Also my head :hap:

The Difference Between English And Australian
She's glued herself into the nest and isn't budging but no eggses yet, so I'm still waiting. I suspect there will even be quite a big difference between the egg sizes

Neglect!
Meal worms are beetle larva. Commonly sold as live food in reptile and aquarium stores Not sure I could stomach my budgies tearing a meal worm apart :yuk:

The Difference Between English And Australian
I must stick a wild, pet and show type in a cage together and take a piccy. My wild babies are getting ready to breed at the moment so it will have to wait unfortunately.

Spangle To Spangle Pairing
According to the genes I inputed into that caculator I found I should get 12.5% blue normals and 12.5 % violet normals of each sex. So it agrees with that 25%

Spangle To Spangle Pairing
Can anyone tell me whether you can get normals form two spangle parents? So far from this clutch of three I have one DF spangle, one SF spangle and one which seems to dark to be a spangle so I'm thinking normal(the youngest so it's not as feathered yet)?

AV, it is interesting that buddy's bars haven't receded at all yet. His sisters had begun to recede when she was only about 7 weeks old.

Roxy Will Not Eat Seed
Also you could try soaking and then partially crushing the seed in a morter and pestle and mixing it into a coarse paste
-
Oh No!
You don't necessarily have to take them out of the aviary permanently but you should seperate each hen for a couple of weeks before pairing them to ensure there are no unplanned matings.

Big Bud's Trip To The Vet
If it's just vitamins why not put her on a good vitamin supplement instead? Weight problems can be solved by changing the seed ratios (as Kaz said finch mix is good for reducing the size of fat budgies), maybe steer clear of the gourmet mix and try a basic seed, alot of those gourmet mixes are full of the stuff that makes birds fat.

So Guinea Pigs?
Do you know how old they are? SW is right, I used to breed mine first at around six months but they can potentially become pregnant much younger than that which can cause just as many problems as breeding too late. If you use common sense guinea pigs are fairly hassle free to breed but they can have more probems than things like mice because their babies are so developed. I bred for many years and in that time I lost one mum during birth and two babies during a different birth, we would have lost three babies but my clever mum gave one mouth to mouth and saved it! Also something to keep in mind, ifyou decide not to go down the breeding path you could get your boy desexed and then they could live together all the time

Looking For An Opaline Red Rump Cock
I got mine at the bird sale last year, might be a good place to start I don't think he is opaline, he's pied but someone is sure to have an opaline there

So Guinea Pigs?
Just checking do they have seperate cages? They are way to young to be breeding and they can breed young. I used home brand baby shampoo for mine

Zoo Pictures 2008
Given that I think the current belief is that dingoes originally came to Australia with Indonesion fishers that's probably not surprising Sunnie. Goes to show that even over tens of thousands of years of evolution if a template works it won't change much if at all.

Younger Budgie With Older Budgie
Your problems aren't because she is older. Hens are hens and they are bossy little b**ches at the best of times. If you wanted to tame them you would have been better off getting a single bird first and then a second one later. The reason Clyde won't talk to you is because he is bonded to the hen.
