Cuttlefish..
Normal size on the beaches up here is around 8 to 12 inches although I did find one once that was eighteen inches long and nearly two inches thick. Those big ones are good for crushing into powder. When fishing off the coast they catch them up to two feet long sometimes but the bone in them is much smaller than the animal itself.

Cuttlefish..
I lived at Beachmere for about ten years and used to be able to collect more than I ever needed from along the shoreline there. I think you will find it is there all the time but a lot of people collect it and sell it.Best time is right after a good south easterly wind first thing in the morning before the crowds arrive.Derek Nope, not true. We actually catch them off the coast here.

What Is A Df Spangle?

- Whats With These Big Budgies?
Just to give some iddea of size the normal wild budgerigar is about 4.5 inches long (tahts tip to tail) whereas I have seen show budgies at 8.5 inches.- What Is A Df Spangle?
That confuses me more then. What would be the outcome of a double factor dom pied cock and a double factor spangle hen.- What Is A Df Spangle?
So is the double factor only present in cock birds ??- What Is A Df Spangle?
Sorry Libby but I still don't understand it. Back in the 60's when I went to school genes were something you wore. or was that jeans. See I don't know the difference. Is a factor a dominant gene? If so a double factor bird has two dominant genes therefore all it's offspring will not be split. If that is correct then a single factor bird has only one dominant gene and it's offspring can be split to another variety but still carry the one dominant gene. I've got a headache.- Some Of This Years Young Birds:
Norm I was reading in the minutes of the last ANBC Meeting that they have now approved a powder coated wire front in a chrome color.- What Is A Df Spangle?
I am having trouble getting my head around this term as well. Can someone explain to me what a factor is. Simply what does the term mean. For example I know a Lutino is a yellow bird with pink eyes. Thats simple. However I cannot get a grasp of the single/double factor terminology. Help an old bloke out here.- Buying Shop Birds
You have a Budgerigar Society in Caboolture http://www.bird4life.com/cbs/ Why don't you contact them and talk to a few of their members about budgies. They meet out at the showgrounds second Tuesday of every month at 7.30 pm.- Some Of This Years Young Birds:
Heard the other day that there are moves afoot to change the size of show cages. Talking about making them not as deep. Not sure on the truth of it but understand they have already done it in the UK. Thats what I was told anyway. - Whats With These Big Budgies?
