Hahahaha. Not into trophies on the mantlepiece hey. I see in some clubs they have monetary prizes. Winning is fine but I think there is some great satisfaction in just seeing something created through your efforts.

Australian Show Breeders
I found this Q&A very interesting. In that interview Nigel Tonkin was asked this - Where can you see the fancy heading especially with so many fanciers leaving the hobby? His answer was - I am not sure what we can do to stop the decline. Are we, the high profile fanciers charging too much for our birds? Are the many auctions where in excess of $1,000.00 is being paid for individual birds the cause? Are we not sponsoring Juniors? Is the hobby now a business? Is greed the problem? I am not sure but it is a big worry.

Australian Show Breeders
Hi Heathrow and welcome to the forum.Being new to the fancy I often wonder about the many breeders out there as you say who don't go looking for recognition.I guess that my reason for asking this question about breeders in the first place is that I ultimately will be looking to purchase, maybe a year or so down the track when I am more familiar with things, some reasonably good birds to kick off my breeding stock and am just looking around at the different breeders.I know some do, but unlike the UK, not a lot of breeders in Australia seem to have good websites where you can seek out information on their studs. Thanks for the info. Much appreciated.Derek Edita: A very interesting interview here with Nigel Tonkin http://www.budgerigars.co.uk/general/tonkin_interview.html

Hi Maesie Regardless of everything else in this world life sux doesn't it and I know I often wonder why things happen to us. Only yesterday my daughter-in-law lost what was to be my second grandchild and their second child. She was 12 weeks pregnant and I will always ask myself, "Why do these things happen?" But I don't have an answer. Words really mean not a lot at a time like this and only you can fully understand the impact this will have on you. If there is one little bit of advice that I can give you, it is to make sure that through all of this that you make sure you look after yourself. Don't let yourself get run down physically and look for those things that will keep your mind stimulated. I am sure that your budgies will be a great help to you I know mine are. Take care won't you. New updated link http://www.anbc.iinet.net.au/downloads/200...inalResults.pdf- Cuttlefish..
Head along Bishop Road, then right into Campbell Parade, right into Louise Drive, left into Bayside Drive and then right to the end. There is a track to the beach. When you get to the beach walk to your left. You will pick cuttlefish up along the high tide mark. Also if you are into fishing you will find lots of rotting ribbon weed along the high water mark just there. Dig this up with a fork and you will find thousands of red wriggler worms under it. Walking along at low tide on the flats and I have also picked up mudcrabs in the mud. Also wading the same flats at high tide using worms or yabbies for bait you will pick up flathead and whiting. - Carrying Budgies As Luggage On Plane Flights
