  1. Happy Thanksgiving!!
  2. Sorry to hear about your bird. How old was he?
  3. JimmyBanks replied to Michelle's topic in New to BBC
Welcome back to the forum Don't be a stranger anymore!!
  4. How is your bird doing?
  5. I agree with the others, looks like a hen... Congratulations.
  6. How's it all coming along? Did you decide to breed or not yet?
  7. Yeah still saying cock...
  8. I'm pretty sure they did (notice the not gender specific 'they' this time KAZ) hahaha! Makes it hard to tell if all that white is really there...
  9. I would guess, and this is only a guess cos the dark cere's really kill me at this stage but: 1. Hen 2. Cock 3. I wanna say hen but I'm going to say Cock. 4. Hen 5. Hen I can see the blue on the cere of the last chick but sometimes Hen's can have cere's like that when they are out of condition and it's not a cock coming into breeding condition, so on that basis I say hen... (I'll probably be completely wrong on all counts.)</div>
  10. I would like to see the second bird front on because I think I see some white on the cere but I can't tell just how white it is... But certainly from side on it looks male.

No Suggestions from be about training, but a massive Aloha back at ya!! Hope you have a great time on the forum and find it full of great information.
  12. Agree with KAZ and Nubbly... Hen and Cock.
  13. Really? I thought it should've been Taumei's not Taumeis' ??even my iPhone auto corrects to Taumei's...
  14. Haha!! Actually I thought about this thread today while going through some stuff... My sons birth certificate was there and it was rolled up in a cardboard box that said, "Taumeis' birth certificate" I had to open it up to make sure the certificate was actually right, his name is Taumei (no s on the end) it is right on the certificate so who knows why they put the apostrophe after the s...
  15. Once you put them in take a picture or the cabinet if possible It would be great to see them, someone might even be able to tell you what to expect out of the pairing...
  16. But if we were going to see it, wouldn't the only way to see it be through Line Breeding? It would virtually be impossible to keep a new mutation without some form of line breeding, wouldn't it?
  17. LOL!!! That is twice I've done that! Sorry Pride...
  18. Hahahaha! Yes they do! So busy telling her what others do I didn't get around to telling her what I'd do!! hahahaha!
  19. okay, I'd add some calcivet to the water to increase their calcium levels... Some people put the hen in first with the nestbox attached. Some people put the cock in first, others put them both in without the nestbox then add the nestbox after a few days... It's basically up to you... If you think you're ready, jump in, hold on and enjoy the ride...
  20. Looks great... Well done!!
  21. Agree with the others, spangle, olive green... Did you use a flash on all the pictures or just the 2nd last one? I'm gonna say cock... The colouration on the wings you are talking about are the spangle markings... Not all that uncommon in pet and show type birds, but a nice mutation nevertheless... welcome to budgie keeping and the forum!!!
  22. Are the pair in breeding condition? What is their current feeding habits? Ie. Are the eating their veggies? Have you been supplementing their water? If so, what with? When did you last worm them?
  23. JimmyBanks replied to Maddy's topic in Aviaries
    Congratulations!! That's awesome news!
  24. Trawling through the internet and I decide to look at the WBO webpage. Now I know you are all thinking about the World Boxing Organisation but alas, I am not. The World Budgerigar Organisation is what I'm talking about. Even before I clicked the link, the thought entered my head, "And what's that got to do with the price of Fish." Is the WBO THE most irrelevant Organisation in the world?! Maybe its because we are way over on the other side of the world and we can't import/export budgies here that makes it so irrelevant to me but it just seems pointless. Do they actually make any decisions that the ANBC is bound by? Or are they like the UN, always passing resolutions, but never taking any action?
