New Budgie
Not really sure of the purpose of this post... but hey, free speech...

New Budgie
I'd love to see that thread... I'm pretty sure you are right.. but I'll wait and see...

Cinnamon faced violet? Who told you about that mutation?

Hello From Louisiana
That is a statement for feeding budgies pellets... otherwise known as being pro pellets. I don't think being "pro pellet's" is a bad thing, opinions are there for everyone to have. I've heard people turn around and say, "I've never seen a budgie in the wild eat pellets. I'm pretty sure they live on a mostly seed diet." Hard to argue against that logic... Doesn't mean I don't though

Hello From Louisiana
Sounds like you're doing a great job Roller... Good variety in the food. Some people are pro pellets, other people are anti pellets, I've even heard of people doing half pellets half seeds... I think your new and improved diet sounds a treat. That might be because I'm on night shift and even a Macca's burger sounds great to me right now. Don't get me started on food! No seriously, sounds like you're doing a good job.

Genetic Calcuator
I knew she used one just wasn't sure which one.

Genetic Calcuator
For those of us that don't have the genetic knowledge that RIP does here's what we can use... http://www.gencalc.com/gen/eng_genc.php?sp=0Budg Now I just need to figure out how it works.

What Sex Is My Budgie?
Unless the green bird had a blue mother or father you will only get green birds...

Young Budgies Eating Droppings
I wouldn't be overly concerned about their behaviour... It sounds like you're doing the right stuff. If they aren't looking ill all you can really do is provide them with different stuff to play with but it sounds like you are on top of it. Do they have toys that they can forage for food in? Might be an idea if you want to try and change their behaviour...

Hey Guys
If there was a like button I'd push it. Well put.

Wild Type
I look forward to seeing the pictures. I think the idea of owning bush budgies is good, unfortunately I'm way to synical and would want to be there and actually see the birds getting caught in order to believe they were genuine bush budgies. That said, I still wanna see your pics
-
Hey Guys
Nah we don't need your username and password. Some accounts are set to private and others are set to public. It's completely up to your brother how the account is set up. If you post the pictures here the same way you did the other picture then we can look at them like that.

Hey Guys
How did you find that, Jimmy? I can usually find people's photos on Photobucket, but it wouldn't let me see anything for funkypanda97. If at first you don't succeed try, try again. I had the same issue but if you just change the number of the picture in the URL of the original picture. It can be very hit and miss if the user has deleted pictures but you get there eventually. On photobucket, their iPhone app is really good. I find it easy to use so that could be an idea if you have an iPhone or similar funkypanda...

Hey Guys
where is the nestbox? on the side, front, back? Inside or outside the cage? whoever it was that said, a picture paints a thousand words, they were right lol. If you were to get another female what would you do with the spare male?
-
Hey Guys
So is it just a simple rectangular shape? how deep is the cage? is it 1m X 45cm X 45cm or is it thinner on the sides? When you say there are perches either side, Do the perches go from the front of the cage to the back or from side to side? How long have you owned the budgies for? What do they eat? As for your friends budgie... that wouldn't be a good idea in my opinion. I did that and my bird got sick, the other persons bird got sick... all in all not a great experience... and those birds were quarantined for 30days before they were put together... I know we are asking a lot of questions, but unfortunately we can't just say, if you do this - you'll get that...
-
Hey Guys
this post was much funnier when you had but you were too quick for me I agree with KAZ though funkypanda breeding budgies isn't just a case of 1 cock + 1 hen = Baby Budgies... If you can't post pictures of your cage then describe to us how you've set it up, we'd love to help you but at this point in time we've got not much to go on.

Avalon House -The Fox Stud-Gb8-Show Birds
looking great GB! I dunno if it's because I haven't been around the site for a while but your birds look like they've improved quite a bit. You must be doing something right Keep it up.
-
Hey Guys
There is a blue bird on that photobucket account too which looks to me like a male, so there is a chance that you've got 2 males and that's why they aren't breeding...
-
Hey Guys
but your photo that you posted yesterday was from photobucket?
-
Hey Guys
LOL yeah I figured that out after the post... I'm always using the iPhone app to access the board so I never see people's gender, signatures, avaters or even the whole FaQ section ahh well..
-
Hey Guys
all moderators and admin signatures have that link I know, but at that stage no moderators had commented on her post so I figured it would be easier to explain the search rather then tell her to click a link that wasn't on her thread yet
-
Hey Guys
No need to be sorry, it will just help if we see photo's of the birds and the cage/aviary that they are in. In your other thread you said you thought they couldnt find the nestbox. In our FAQ section there is a lot of great stuff on breeding. Not to mention all the threads in the Breeders section of the forum. If you do a search I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find a link to the 'How to post pictures' thread. It's not hard once you figure it out... If I can do it I'm sure anyone can.

Lost Budgie ---- Sky-Blue Opaline
I know how annoying it is to come home and find no bird in the cage... And the whole in the wall to remind me how it felt... Is there anyway you can build a safety door into the aviary?
-
Hey Guys
Are they in breeding condition? Photos of your set up might help others figure out the problem...

My Husband Built Me A New Aviary!
Still extremely impressed with this Aviary!
