My All Budgies Moulting
I also agree... just wanted to add though, It's best not to breed when moulting as mouting takes a toll on budgies and to then add breeding is not a good idea.

Chickens Medicine
Agree with others... we need more information. Please tell us what is wrong with your budgie, what the vet's diagnosis is, what medication they gave you (Full name and specifics), and the dose you are giving. With all that information we 'should' be able to tell you if it's okay or not.

It may just take her time to get used to you more/enough to chirp around you. She sounds friendly enough though. Her feather condition concerns me though. Can we get a photo. It sounds very much like french moult... which for your sake I hope it's not.- Pink Budgie
We arent. Its only Squeak that still believe's there are pink budgies Thanks what I meant... I still can't believe people believe this BULL!- Pink Budgie
I can't believe we're still debating this ****!!! (shakes head!)- My Aviary
- Soft Wood
Nothing with chemicals, stain or paint on it. Even if it has been previously treated it still can not be used.- Budgies Arriving Tomorrow
It's often a good idea to partly cover the cage as they settle in. I usually use a towel/sheet, and cover the back half. This gives them somewhere to 'hide' and makes them feel more secure. They're cute too!- Do U Give Your Young Budgies
If you only have babies... then WHAT are you breeding with??? All budgies need to be over 12 months of age to breed!- Budgies Arriving Tomorrow
Sounds good... as for the branch options... go the bottlebrush if you can. My budgies LOVE them as they are able to rip the outside bits off and have an awesome time... and are still left with some good perches afterwards.- Budgies Arriving Tomorrow
Congratulations... I bet you're all excited! The cage size looks good. I had one similar but not quite as high, and it had plenty of room for my two. As mentioned, I'd ditch all the perches. I'd get some natural branches, of varying thickness' and and from safe trees... bottlebrush, eucalyptus etc... Make sure they are free of nasties/poo etc... Then, I'd put them from front to back, as you've already mentioned. I'd go for 2 or three... see how it looks set up. You want plenty of room but not to squishy. I'll leave the other advice to those with more knowledge. Good luck and please keep us updated.- Can't We Breed Female Budgie Like This
I'm not 100% sure what you are saying... if you are saying that if you breed a budgie twice a year after they are 12 months and then stop when they are 4, she will have 6 clutches... then yes, this is currect. BUT you don't have to breed them that many times... you can also breed them more than twice a year but not more then twice in a row. They need time to rest and recover. That is why you were told not to breed your hen for the third time! BUT... if you don't know their age, you shouldn't breed them until you can be certain they are older than 12 mths- Maid Stoled Our Budgie
Unless you saw your maid steal your budgie, you can't really acuse her of it.- My Sweet Glen
Agree... very cute, but am also going with the concensus... Glen looks like a Female- Need Help Plzzz
... You do do not separate the chicks from their parents untill they are eating on their own. When I breed I leave them with their parents until they fledge (Leave the nest). You also say you need to separate her so she can have her THIRD clutch... Do you mean third in a row? If so this is a bad idea. They should be given a rest after the second BEFORE breeding again. It's really bad for their health.- Sad News
Oh honey... I'm sooooo sorry!!! xoxo Big hugs- Breeding Cabnets
AGAIN... please you the search function and the FAQ's... we have heaps of topics and information on this already.- Ted And His Ball
Thanks for sharing... he's so cute! I love when he goes sliding across the floor- Making Holes In Nest
Unless you are breeding in the stinking hot summer... air holes are not needed. They'll get enough air through the entrance hole.- My Rescued Budgie!
He's a sweetie and yes... he's a boy! I can't give you an age, but someone else might be able to help with that. If you want to tame him, don't get him a friend because as you have read, he'll befriend his bird friend and not you (as much anyway) As to clipping wings... it's very much a personal choice. I have clipped my inside budgies wings and it worked well for me. If you decided to do so, be sure to clip both wings, not one. If you only do one they become un-balanced and can hurt themselves. If he's already mimicing other bird noises, I'm sure it wont be long before he starts following your lead. Just be sure to pick one thing and work on that first... before moving onto something new. Check out our FAQ's for heaps of helpful info... FAQ'S especially this one: Taming your budgie Good luck and don't forget to ask us anything... we're happy to help!- Need Help Plzzz
A breeding cage should be used for breeding only. When they are not breeding they should be housed in another cage or aviary... therefor you don't need to cover the hole because you wont be using the cage.- Black Spot
I personally can't be of much help, but could you post some photos... they may be able to help us help you.- Some Of My Flock
Looks like you have an awesome set up and some very happy budgies. Great colours too! - Pebbles Is Not Chirping
