New Cage
Looks FAB!!! You said the bar spacing is 10mm, that's great... but just check where the rounded sections of the cage are, this is where the bars can differ a little. Other than that, I'd swap all the crappy perches they supplied for natural branches, different thickness' if you can, and running back to front. So much bigger than his other cage, he's going to love it! Can't wait for more pics when it's set up!

Lego is awesome too!!! You can change to photo into black and white/sepia after you've taken them too... make them look old school/aged!

Staged Photos
I'm not sure if you have access to them, but it would be cool to get some photos of him with little action figures/army men... you know the ones, so he could be in battle lol

Question About Boiled Egg...
Yeah... go for it. I also do as RJT does and add the crushed shell as well. I add veggies and they seem to love it. Give some to your aviary birds too, I'm sure they'll love it.

Obsessed With Toys
I was just about to freak out about this because Dalek's bell is shiny, because it's all we can get in the petshops. Some how people like shiny things more then their birds do. xD But I looked over at him and instead of kissing it, he was biting at the thing in the middle, biting the edge and pulling it around to make it ring and then getting snooty at it and biting it. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do that to a friend. LOL lol... if they become really attached they can feed it too, so regurgitate food onto it, as if it were a partner. Many moons ago my family had a male budgie who would talk to his bell for hours on end.

Making Life Better For My Neighbour's Budgie
Looks sooooo much better already. Have you got some thinner branches in there for her to sit on, as it's better on her feet she have a multiple of thickness'. Also, do you have access to branches from bottlebrushes or similar... their branches have loose bark on them so they can pull it all off. Great to keep them busy! I'd also personally ditch the mirror (if that's what it is) too... BUT great work!!! What are her reactions thus far?

Obsessed With Toys
SHINY toys can cause problems as they can see themselves in them... and see a 'friend' in them. Swapping them around is a really good idea too.

Pink Budgies...
Do a search of the forum for pink budgies... there are lots of topics already about it. :-)

Grits And Sunlight
Maesie, you have 6 budgies, you probly feed trill & you have said yourself, grit is in the mix & you say you don't feed it,you do.I could say I don't feed grit.ButI have cuttle bone,in the pens. You say you have had budgies all your life, what 2 in a cage.  Macka... just because I own 6 budgies does not mean I feel them trill. Do not make assumptions. If you read my post properly I said... I'm talking about adding grit and using it as well as their current seed mix. If you didn't understand my post that's not my problem. As to me saying I've had budgies all my life, again enough with the assumptions. Really not sure why I'm being personally attacked... !?!?

Grits And Sunlight
I may be a global moderator, but I am still entitled to my own opinion. ... and just to clarify before anyone else feels the need to attack me and my 'OPINION' I have owned budgies for as long as I can remember. I have never supplemented with grit, although my seed mix does have some added. They get all the nutrients etc... from their diet, which is very varied and some supplements.. They are all happy and healthy and I can't remember the last time one of my budgies died. I have also breed most of the budgies I own now and they are also healthy. I PERSONALLY don't believe they need extra grit and therefor don't see the need to spend extra money on it. If anyone reading this feels the need to buy and give it to their budgies, go for it, the choice is yours.

Grits And Sunlight
Budgies do not need grit! Waste of money.

New Budgie Owner, Concerned About Scaly Mites
You've been given some great advice... I'd just like to add, if you end up needing to treat him, get someone else to do it. Talk through with them them on how to catch him and use the drops, and then leave the room or hide where you budgie can't see you. Then after it's done, return with treats.

Chewing And Hanging Off Glasses
An interesting bracelet is even better. You could make one that is shiny and poke some veggies/herbs in it lol

My New Aviary

Budgie Weightwatchers
Do a search on pellets here... There are many threads on the debate! I don't like them at all, by changing your seed and adding more fruit and veggies I think you'll get a better result than stuffing around trying to convert them to pellets. Can we see a photo of your 'fatty'. Also, any out of cage time is good... even if he is just running! Like us, any movement is better than none. If he is big, he may even have a hard time flying. Good luck!

First Time Hand Raising
Why do you want to hand raise????? You can get a perfectly tame budgie by leaving it in the nest with Mum and handling daily. NOTHING can replace the food and care a mother/father can give to their chicks. The only time I would ever hand raise would be if I lost both Mum and Dad (or they had issues with hurting the young etc...) and had no access to a surrogate parent. I'd be putting the chicks back with their parents and praying they'll take them back!

Should I?
I'd look around for ivermectin. As Dave said, one drop on the back of the neck and that is it... dose and forget. No repeat doses and worrying it wont go away... Anything else is a waste of time and money in my book. Are there any other members near you that you can get some off, or is there a bird club near you... they often sell it. It's also recommended to treat all your budgies, even if they don't show signs. P.S. You can re-dose ivermectin if needed, but I never have... (unless a new outbreak at a later date)

My Budgie's Early Comedy Routine
What a little cutie. I couldn't hear the word either, as it is set to a very low volume (yes, I turned up both the link and my computer) He reminds me of 'Rodger' He was my Mum's budgie who talked heaps. Once when Mum bent over at the fridge, he wolf whistled and said 'hello sexy' hahahahahah... right on cue!
