Good advice thus far. I'd also suggest having two food dishes. The one on the bottom and one up high next to his/her perch. S/he may be used to the higher one and/or scared to move off the perch

Firstly, hi and welcome aboard! Secondly, your budgies are very cute... and young. Their age will help in Jackson's adaptation to his leg (if it doesn't go back to normal) As many have said, budgies can cope quite well with disabilities and don't stress too much. You have done a great job thus far and your avian vet visits are perfect. You haven't failed him AT ALL!!! You got it seen to and it will get better. Even if he doesn't use it like he used to... he will be fine! :sad: maesie xo

Yeah... what did they say? That is so NOT cool... A primary school concert, paying for the kids in the concert, and for your 3 year old???????? That is BULL!!! I'd be kicking up a very BIG fuss and I'd imagine many other would feel the same!!! Good luck with that... P.S.... I'm very crafty and good with a paint brush and posters. Oh no... what a bummer. My local Aquarium shop do water tests. You just take a water sample in and they'll test is for you and help solve the problem... maybe try that. I know they do pH but they also test for other stuff. Good luck and I hope you don't loose any more. Hugs xoxo

Great Kaz. She does sound like she has a good heart... just a little misguided. I'm glad she listened to your idea and it sounds like she'll take them on board. It will be nice to follow her progress as she gets into breeding budgies.

yes its definately vomiting .... and i just cant take any bird to see the vet , just because it vomits, dont know about you guys but i cant afford it. If it was my bird and she was vomiting for a week or two, I'd definately take her to a vet. I also don't have a lot of money, but I also don't have 100 birds... My flock is 9 strong :hap:

Agree... read this and let us know: Reguritation vs Vomiting . If it is vomiting, she shouldn't have been left that long without seeing a vet! You also should never give antibiotics randomly without knowing if they are needed. This can be very bad for their health.

thank you, I was saying at least she isnt in pain but I hate she's gone. Yeah, I know. It doesn't matter how you try and justify that's she's now at pece, it still hurts and will do for some time. It will get eaiser, it just takes time. You'll find a way to get through it

Sorry Elly, I've been slack Things are coming along nicely with Gucci and Dolce. Gucci is definitely the 'leader'. She'll waddle over to the lace curtains and have a nibble, and the Dolce will do it too. I fed them chopped carrots the other day. I was in the kitchen when I heard a 'clunk' I looked out... nothing. I heard it again, still nothing, so I peeked through the door, and the little buggers were throwing carrot through the bars of the cage What can you do!!! lol As to training, they are happy to play on their gym, and step up on my hand to get out. I took them separately into the spare room and they sat on me and do lots of stepping up. My nephew had them on his arm and leg and thought that was pretty cool. I need to do more one on one training, but we'll get there. They are not keen on being on the couch with me when they can see their play gym and cage, so in another room works much better.

Excellent idea... but I'm sorry, I can't contribute. I don't understand any genetics stuff... One day I hope I will want to learn it, but until then, I remain 'null and void' (Maybe I should read this FAQ)
