  1. okay... small cage, lower perches, remove all toys, supply millet if you like... Remove water- she won't need it for that period of time, maybe supply some leafy green for moisture... Cover three sides of the cage- maybe have the side that faces you open so she can see you. All birds are different... some prefer to be fully covered, some not. See how she goes and play it by ear. Mine enjoy music, just the radio is fine.
  2. How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm currently without a computer but will be checking in when I can. I hope it all goes smoothly for her, the pups and YOU!
  3. Awww... he loves it! I agree about the preening... a sign he feels safe. Yah for Smokey!!!

Hi and welcome to the forums... Nice birds too!
  5. Loose in the car??? :tut_tut: Not a good idea!
  6. Time, time and more time. Maybe don't do the 'cage play' for a little while yet. Once the out of cage play is a little more calm and controlled... you could go back to the cage play. Do you have plenty of things to keep them occupied out of the cage?? toys etc??? Some birds just don't get along, but hopefully, with time and patience, your two can. Good luck and please keep us updated.
  7. Hello... and welcome aboard!
  8. Thanks for dropping in... I miss you being around. Benny has grown up soooooo much!!! He's a sweetie . I'm really sorry you had to give your birds away. I understand how hard it must have been for you. Biggest hugs for you all from me and I look forward to hearing from you again!
  9. As I'm sure everyone will want to wish everyone a great christmas etc... I thought I'd start a new post so we don't have hundreds of them lol... I'll start it off... I'm heading away for Christmas (meant to packing and leaving as I write this), and I wont be back until Saturday. I'd like to wish everyone a great Christmas, safe travelling, enjoy your parties and gatherings, and have a great New Year too... To all the staff here, you guys do an excellent job thoughout the year. Along with your other commitments and the hard times many of you have had, you still run the BBC ship brilliantly. It's great to have such a tight nit group of staff... and welcome back Daz (Christmas wouldn't have been the same without you) To all the members on the BBC, new and old... you make this place what it is. I lookforward to following all of your journeys in 2009!!! SO, that's me... be safe and merry and catch you all when I get back! :22:
  10. I'd still be getting my shots if I were handling possums... you never know what they might carry. On a side note, we were doing a trap and release of micro bats when I was studying a few years back... using harp nets (I think they were called?) All the bats are so cute in an ugly sort of way.

  12. I have that EXACT container!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even with the hole and screen mesh on top!!! lol
  13. Does not matter :baby: ... also, a question from awhile back about the hulled oats... they will de-husk them and eat the inside.
  14. Awww... that's great! It's enough to out weight your sadness I bet!
  15. Merry Christmas Luv! It was great to meet you, and all the best for the xmas season and new year! xoxo

What a lovely idea... you could even throw a tennis ball out to sea (maybe even with her name on it?, for her to 'catch'. Hugs mate :baby:
  19. Awww, hugs mate xoxo Just think of what you have done for him...
  20. Sounds like a plan... Mine have even started to climb out of their air holes!!!!!!!!! grrrrr, so I put the tub of them in another container I have which seals fully. It has a piece cut out of the lid which has weed mat over it. This allows air but no escapes!!!
  21. I tried my girls with them... but they freaked out when they wiggled when they tried to pick them up! haha (on a side note... I had a tub at home once that got knocked over... they crawled everywhere... and then the ants got inside to get them... we had to strip the whole room-including empting out a massive cupboard as they were under it-, and get on our hands and knees to remove them... It took hours... and after all that, we still found them through out the house. Such a nightmare!!!
  22. So handsome... thanks for sharing!
