  1. Great trees... If you're ever unsure, you can always break a leaf in your hands... you can't mistake the smell of a Eucalyptus tree!
  2. So cute... and aren't they good to sit in a line for you and the camera :budgiedance:
  3. I knew there was something else... but forgot what it was. THANKS!!!
  4. I know I'm 4 hours late, but I hope he is still okay... You need to have a really close look at where it's comming from, as if it's a blood feather, it needs to be pulled out. Do you have any white pepper. This can be used to stop the bleeding Here's a link that may help you: Bleeding bird and what to do
  5. SOME can... but many don't. If they are not eaten soon after it's best to remove them as Liv said.
  6. Awww... too cute. Thanks for sharing! "close your eyes and think happy thoughts... close your eyes and think happy thoughts... close your eyes and think happy thoughts"
  7. Excellent thread! Great photos... and their tongues make me laugh too!!!
  8. I'm GUESSING three hens??? and 'don't do' mutations Good luck and I hope you get some answers... they are all sweeties.
  9. Congratulations... you lucky duck! :anim_19:
  10. Yeah, I realize that. I just don't want you or others to get in trouble. But feel free to PM local members who you think may be able to help you with this... :laughter: You can keep this post going but just no names... Names in PM's are fine!
  11. What great news! I am just thrilled for you and will await photos :laughter:
  12. It's just not a good idea to name shops when we are complaining about them... Can cause problems for this site and individuals. You're not being too dramatic... you just care. :laughter:
  13. Without a photo I can't tell what it is? Maybe just ask them what is wrong with their faces and see what they say??? You can only try by mentioning it. With situations like this... we don't have a lot of options... Some people buy the birds out of pity, but they soon just get more and probably treat them the same way. Some people report them, but this doesn't always prove to be successful. OR you say something to them in the hope they will listen and do something about it...
  14. I love natural remedies too... much better then poisons! If you've done it before and had no issues... it must be fine :laughter: ... Good luck and I hope she passes any further eggs with out problems.
  15. i have a query as to the hen i just helped pass her egg? could it be possable she has a egg still their....it is after all due another one today.and she still bobin tail again since about 9.30 pm Thanks for sharing... and it would be quite possible she has another egg. Do you have any calcium? You can pop a drop on her beak... this will help her pass anymore with no trouble. And feed her plenty of fresh calcium rich foods. The bath for her sounds lovely... my only concern would be putting her in the water WITH the oils... If it were me, I'd use just plain warm water to sit her in... as I'd hate for the oils to react to her or cause further problems. You could still have some in another small bowl beside her, but I personally wouldn't sit her in it... Purely my opinion... not sure if it's worth worrying about though.
  16. lol... I just have a plastic tub, but here are some pics of toys I made for my birds: I'm not sure if I mentioned before, but I buy some stuff from MY PARROT SHOP. They are excellent. You can buy whole toys, but I prefer to go to the Toy parts and hardware section, and buy bits and bobs to make my own... It's also great just to see what they use... and then try to find them cheaper around home... The site is very trustworthy and quick to send them out.
  17. Hi, welcome, and THANKS for sharing. You have some beautiful birds :party0011:
  18. Great work. They are going to love them. As with any toys... make sure you regularly check them for wear and tear. With home made toys (especially with shredable bits), you're best to remove when any signs are seen. The best thing is though, you just dismantle them, and reuse what you can. One thing my Budgies love, are those patty cake/muffin paper cups... I buy the white, undied paper ones and thread them onto toys... they don't last long, but they LOVE to rip them up :hap: On a side note: I have a plastic toy box for all my bird toys!!! :party0011:
  19. I vacuum around the cage (mine is up on a table) right next to them and they don't flinch. As Kaz said, they get used to it and actually enjoy the noise. Mine even try and compete with the noise!!! :hap:
  20. I would not remove the bub from it's Mum. The best start in life they can get is to be reared and fed by its Mother. If you handle the bub everyday, s/he will still be very tame.
  21. Congratulations on the win!!!
  22. If they havn't been fed today, you need to feed them and not leave it until tomorrow. You need handraising formula... yogurt is not suitable to raise them on permanently. You'll need a source of heat to keep them warm. I'm not experienced in this, so you're best to wait for others... but that's just my limited opinion.
  23. If I were you... I'd stick to Budgies... you are only young and plenty of time for other species later on... Stick to one first, get the hang of them and then see how you go. Breeding takes time, and with school etc, you'd be better off focusing on them at that stage... My opinion only. The choice is yours in the end.
  24. YAH You're staying!!!!! PM's are not rude at all. They are perfect for personal conversations, to ask for help, or if you're really having trouble with something, PMing a member and getting help that way can be quicker and less 'out in the open' if you prefer. We prefer general questions to be asked via the forum as that means we can all learn from the answers... and often you will find that others didn't know the answers too, they were just to scared to ask!
  25. He's adorable!!! Have you got a clock that ticks? It helps to pop a small one under he's blanket as it sounds like his Mum's heartbeat and may help him settle at night.
