  1. Do you guys not have water restrictions over in WA?
  2. Great stuff. Just remember the signs to look out for 'egg binding' and be ready with a calcium drop to the beak. I hope it doesn't come to this. Please keep us updated on her and her coming eggs.
  3. Really??? NEVER!!! :laughter:
  4. :28: :28: :28: ho ho ho :laughter: JB... I bought my Dad a jigsaw for Fathers Day a few years ago because I needed one for a project I was building  He uses it on the 'off' occasion, but I still use it more!!!
  5. I agree with Maesie. Leaving them in there as long as it takes for the next egg to hatch is dangerous. It wraps around the next egg and isnt seen easily and the chick wont be able to break through a double layer of eggshell (A wise woman once told me that... lol :laughter: )
  6. :28: :28: :28:
  7. Some do... but I think they do it pretty much straight away... so leaving them in there is pointless
  8. Great idea!!! You have received great advice. I hope things work out for you, your birds and their babies... Please keep us updated.
  9. Hi and welcome to the forums. I hope you find yourself at home here and learn everything you want to... I agree with the others... a moulting hen!
  10. Looking and sounding promising!!! Great photos too... just something to remember... remove the shells once chicks hatch asap, as they can get caught around new eggs about to hatch and make it harder or impossible for them to get out
  11. How did the vet visit go???
  12. Great 'catch' Dave... just goes to show if you know the signs you can step in before it's too late!
  13. Oh Dave :28: Nice buys Kaz... I'm sure you'll get some beauties out of them!
  14. I want a Turtle
  15. Weird I hope it all goes well and they make a full recovery! Good luck mate :laughter:
  16. i am lucky then that she has not tried that one, she likes to bath in the vegies before she tosses them. I gave her alfalfa sprouts yesterday and by the time she had finished playing she was wet with all these sprouts stuck to her feathers. You must get a photo of that!!! :laughter: At least she's paying attention to them... and with all that playing, you'd assume she'd eat SOME of it!

Hi and welcome back... Lloyd is a cutie, and your setup looks great too
  18. Mine do worse than that... they throw them threw the bars of the cage onto the carpet!!! Good luck with the newspaper. I hope it works!
  19. As you stated you DON'T want to house them together, I think they would be fine. Just introduce them slowly (once you have quarantined the new guy for 30 days). I have both in an aviary and their are no problems. The key is to do it slowly, and keep a close eye on them... it may take time or it may be no worries from the start. Good luck and I look forward to pics if and when you get him!

AGREED! Need a photo first please
  21. I have budgies and cockatiels and there has never been a problem... as long as the aviary is big enough. I'd agree with cabinet breeding too... colony breeding is too much heart ache and problems. Not worth it.
  22. :ohmygod: I hope you had you mouth shut... you don't want to score a nice surprise when he gets a shock!!! lol... Great front porch too by the way. He is going to have a GREAT life

Awesome photos Deb... it's great to see it in flower too :ohmygod:
  24. YES Totally agree. Just because you have 'working' sexual organs, doesn't mean you need to use them!!!
  25. Well... I don't have my own kids, but my nephew and niece: Nephew 4 3/4- Model Dinosaur to make up.. he's obsessed with them and knows how to say all the hard ones  , a children's Atlas as he has a wealth of knowledge already... smart boy and a small handheld compass for him to navigate the backyard. Niece 1 1/2- A small pink handbag, some plastic bracelets, fluffy pink boa, a colorful dress up hat and a plastic rubber duck.
